Account Manager, Energy Upstream (Oil & Gas)

Strategic Staffing Solutions is looking for an Account Manager in Houston, Midland or Denver area 

Locations: Houston, TX · Midland, TX · Denver, CO · Hybrid, up to 50% travel

Strategic Staffing Solutions (S3) delivers IT, engineering and business talent and solutions to Fortune 500 clients from teams in the US, Manila and Buenos Aires. We are building a dedicated team around one of our largest clients, a Fortune 50 integrated energy company. This Account Manager will own our relationship with the client's US upstream business in the Permian Basin, the Gulf of America, the DJ Basin and California's San Joaquin Valley.

What you'll do

• Build relationships with asset and business unit leaders, production and facilities engineering, drilling and completions, subsurface, OT and automation, and upstream digital teams
• Find out what each asset needs and turn it into staffing requests, dedicated teams and scoped projects
• Sell a full range of services: onsite consultants, delivery teams in Houston, Manila and Buenos Aires, project pods, SOWs and managed services
• Price each deal to protect margin, and work within the client's MSP/VMS program
• Work with our practice leads, delivery leads and recruiting teams to fill roles quickly and with the right people
• Keep consultants engaged and redeploy them as projects change
• Forecast demand, keep the CRM current and run quarterly business reviews with client leaders

What you bring

• 8+ years selling IT, engineering or technical services, or professional staffing, to enterprise clients
• 3+ years selling into upstream oil and gas (E&P, oilfield services or integrated energy)
• A record of growing an enterprise account across several regions
• Working knowledge of the upstream value chain and field technology (SCADA, automation, OT cybersecurity, production and subsurface data, ERP)
• Experience with MSP/VMS programs (SAP Fieldglass preferred)
• Comfort selling offshore and nearshore delivery alongside onsite talent
• Able to complete field safety orientations (for example SafeLand) and, where offshore visits are needed, offshore safety training
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Nice to have: existing relationships with major integrated energy companies; time at an operator, oilfield services company or EPC; having sold SOWs or managed services; experience with delivery teams in the Philippines or Latin America
