Title: Full-Stack Software Engineer
Location: Austin
ABOUT US
We are a venture-backed manufacturing startup building the most advanced automated production facilities in the United States. We are on a mission to make American manufacturing economically viable — through intelligent machinery, automation, and a relentless focus on execution. We are early, we are moving fast, and we are looking for exceptional people who want to build something that matters.
ROLE SUMMARY
We’re hiring a Full-Stack Software Engineer - someone who will design and build the software systems that run our machines and the business around them. This role owns the full stack: real-time machine data, backend services, and the operator interfaces used to monitor and control production. It is a hands-on, ownership-heavy role for someone who has experience shipping products in fast-paced startup environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and build full-stack web applications for internal tooling, machine monitoring, operations management, and public store fronts - Architect and implement a custom ERP system from scratch - production scheduling, inventory tracking, equipment status, and order management with a high degree of automation and minimal manual data entry - Build machine orchestration interfaces with real-time dashboards and control surfaces that integrate with industrial equipment over well-known protocols - Design and maintain web applications and services that solve core problems - Contribute to development of a robust CI/CD pipeline - automated testing, containerized builds, and deployment - Build AI and automation into the systems that power the manufacturing floor - Work directly alongside controls and electrical engineers to define integration contracts between software and machine hardware PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- 6+ years of full-stack software engineering experience, including meaningful time at startups with broad ownership of the application stack - Experience building and supporting live applications and services - Broad knowledge of software architecture and able to consider the tradeoffs between centralized vs distributed and monolith vs microservice - Deep experience with building multi-tiered applications and services in Golang - HTML, CSS, and JavaScript proficiency for building functional, data-dense internal tooling interfaces - RDBMS and PostgreSQL fluency in schema design and writing and reading raw SQL
- Experience working in a CI/CD environment with test, build, and release pipelines - Care deeply about engineering excellence with Git hygiene, documentation, and constructive code review - Comfortable using AI to increase velocity and reduce defects but to implement everything or make every decision - Effective communicator and collaborator in a distributed team environment - Flexible with schedule and hours; thrives in a startup environment where priorities shift and urgency is real NICE TO HAVE
- Familiarity with OPC-UA or other industrial automation and communication protocols - Knowledge of event streaming technologies like NATS or MQTT
- Experience with document or time-series databases - Container orchestration with Kubernetes, ECS, Fargate or Cloud Run - Prior work experience in a manufacturing domain - Experience at an early-stage hard tech or deep tech startup - Any prior team lead or mentorship experience ADDITIONAL
- Willingness to travel as needed for vendor visits, factory acceptance testing, and on-site equipment commissioning - Comfort with a startup pace - this role demands flexibility, self-direction, and a bias toward getting things done over waiting for perfect conditions
