Finance Assistant

STARK Group | Finance | Building materials retail and distribution
On-site
Part Time
Denmark, Frederiksberg, Copenhagen
Kick-start your finance career while studying Are you studying finance, economics, business administration, or a related field, and would you like to build practical finance experience alongside your studies? As our new Student Assistant in Group IT Finance, you will become part of a dedicated and supportive finance team. You will learn how financial data, reporting, and analysis are used to support decision-making in a large international IT organisation. You do not need to know everything from day one — we will help you build your skills and gradually give you more responsibility as you grow into the role. The role is based in Frederiksberg, Denmark. Your Role and Impact You will join a specialised Group IT Finance team consisting of two IT Project Controllers, a Finance Controller, and the IT Finance Director, who will also be your manager. Working closely with the team, you will help prepare, validate, and improve financial reporting used across Group IT. This will give you a practical understanding of how finance supports planning, follow-up, cost transparency, and business decisions. The role is designed for a student who is curious, structured, and eager to learn. Your tasks will grow gradually, and you will get hands-on experience with reporting, analysis, Excel, Power BI, financial data, and presentations. No two weeks will be exactly the same - you may support recurring reporting one week and help with an analysis, reconciliation, or presentations the next. In this role, you will: Support recurring financial reporting, including follow-up on actuals, forecasts, accruals, and budget performance. Work with financial data in Excel, Power BI, Business Central, and other reporting tools. Help improve transparency around IT costs, cost drivers, and financial performance. Support the maintenance of reporting templates, documentation, and presentation material. Assist with ad hoc analyses, reconciliations, presentations, and stakeholder requests. Over time, you will build a strong practical understanding of finance in an international IT environment and gain experience that is highly relevant for your future career. What You Bring This is the role for you if you are a student who enjoys working with numbers, data, and structured problem solving. You may still be early in your studies or career, but you are curious, willing to learn, and comfortable asking questions when something is new to you. We do not expect you to be an expert from the beginning. What matters most is that you are reliable, curious, and ready to take responsibility for your tasks while developing your skills and learning how finance support business decisions. We imagine that you bring: Ongoing bachelor’s or master’s degree within finance, economics, business administration, accounting, data analytics or a related field. An interest in reporting, financial analysis, and working with data. A structured and detail-oriented approach combined with a curious and analytical mindset. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to take responsibility for your tasks. Professional English skills, both written and spoken. Experience with Excel, Power BI, Power Query, Business Central, or similar tools will be an advantage, but is not a requirement. We will support you in learning the tools you need for the role. We expect you to work approximately 8-15 hours per week, but we do understand that your studies come first and will plan working hours with flexibility around your studies, classes, and exam periods.
