The opportunity ahead

Spotnana is seeking an experienced Sr. Staff Security Engineer to join our global Security team. As a Sr. Staff Security Engineer you will be responsible for developing security tooling that enhances Spotnana’s ability to secure our corporate and platform system. You will be deeply engaged across the business advocating for and implementing security best practices and guardrails that enable the business to move quickly while maintaining our enterprise security. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who lives in the details of security engineering and can thrive in a fast-paced environment where both individual drive and team collaboration are the keys to success. You’ll be working to identify problems, establish a vision for how to address those problems, and unite the relevant owners within the business on achieving that vision.

How you'll help us build

Build in-house applications to improve security posture across the entire product lifecycle and codify secure by design principles
Build integrations between various security products
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines with shift-left security practices
Build and own security orchestration (no code, low code, functions, etc)
Design and evaluate security solutions for an API driven, multi-region SaaS platform
Create prototypes and/or proof of concepts to demonstrate solution viability
Research the industry landscape and technology developments
Partner with leaders and engineers to influence and define execution plans
Mentor junior engineers

Experience you bring

10+ years of security engineering experience
Ability to influence without authority, innovate to tackle tough problems, and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization
Fluency in building and deploying software using modern engineering practices
Expert in at least one programming language
- Java, Golang and Python a strong plus
Familiarity with the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in a security context, including its capabilities and limitations
Familiarity with data anonymization and data privacy concerns
Experience leading other engineers a plus
Experience with delivering large-scale SaaS applications a plus
Experience delivering results in an enterprise environment, ideally from a position of little or no direct authority, ideally in efforts that span teams or organizations

What to expect next

Selected candidates will participate in cross-functional virtual interviews exploring their relevant experience, approach to problem-solving, critical thinking, and alignment with Spotnana’s core values. Interviews will include face-to-face conversations as well as coding exercises to demonstrate your ability.

Spotnana strives to offer fair, industry-competitive, and equitable compensation. Our total compensation package includes base salary, an annual performance bonus, company equity, and comprehensive benefits. We use trusted third-party market data to establish compensation ranges that are competitive for the role, industry, company size, and geographic market, while maintaining internal equity across our team.

Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and work location. The anticipated annual base salary hiring ranges for this role are:

New York Metro Area, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle Metro Area: $186,900-$240,000
California, New Jersey, Washington, New York, Washington, D.C., Massachusetts, Connecticut: $178,800-$228,000
Hawaii, Alaska, Maryland, Illinois, New Hampshire, Oregon, Colorado, Virginia, Delaware, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Texas: $170,700-$216,000
All other U.S. states: $162,600-$204,000

Actual compensation may vary based on individual qualifications and the applicable geographic market.
