Title: Senior Product Manager, Commerce Platform Location: Palo Alto, CA

SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER, COMMERCE PLATFORM

As a Senior Product Manager for our Commerce Platform, you will own product direction for the billing systems and purchase flows that power paid products across Grok, X, Grok Bot, and Cursor. This is a technical product role. You will be hands-on with the systems and able to contribute code, but your primary focus is product management for a large-scale billing system. You will do the work of a product manager, applied to building, maintaining, and triaging issues across highly scaled billing infrastructure. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to directly drive significant revenue growth while shaping systems that serve hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own the product roadmap for the commerce platform billing system across Grok, X, Grok Bot, and Cursor
• Define requirements and drive delivery for purchase flows, including checkout, paywalls, upsell, and promotional offers
• Lead triage of billing issues at scale. Set priorities, coordinate fixes with engineering, and close the loop with support and finance
• Drive the unification of the subscription system across apps and the integration of SpaceXAI payments into the Starlink payment network
• Manage product requirements across payment rails, including Apple App Store, Google Play, and Stripe
• Contribute code directly where it speeds up delivery, such as prototypes, tooling, data analysis, and small fixes
• Define and track billing health and revenue metrics such as payment success rate, involuntary churn, and conversion
• Partner with legal, tax, and compliance teams on market-specific billing methods and compliance requirements to accelerate global expansion

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of product management experience on large-scale consumer applications

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Strong product management background with deep experience building large-scale, high-stakes systems (Monetization, subscriptions, or fintech, billing, payments, or transactional platforms preferred)
• Technical depth to read and write production code and to hold architecture discussions with engineers
• Strong track record shipping and operating complex backend-heavy products for consumer applications at scale
• Passion for revenue-generating products and creating exceptional user experiences
• Hands-on experience with Apple App Store and Google Play in-app billing and Stripe
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Prior experience as a software engineer
• Familiarity with distributed systems, global payments infrastructure, or A/B testing frameworks

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$180,000 - $275,000 USD
