Company: US-based multi-location commercial equipment dealership (Our Client)
Type of Contract: Independent Contractor
Type of Job: Remote, Full-time
About the Opportunity
Our client, a US-based commercial equipment dealership, is looking for a Business Development Specialist to lead customer reactivation and drive new revenue across its parts and service departments. The business sells commercial-grade equipment to construction, landscaping, and demolition companies, owner-operators, municipalities, and commercial accounts.
The company maintains a substantial database of past accounts and key market contacts. This role is dedicated to proactively building relationships, identifying latent service and parts needs, and winning back high-value commercial accounts. Getting started now is critical to pipeline development ahead of seasonal shifts in commercial equipment maintenance cycles.
The ideal candidate is a proactive business development professional who communicates with executive polish, thrives on outbound outreach, and brings a systematic approach to pipeline management. High resilience, strong commercial acumen, and relentless pursuit of targets matter most.
Duties
Strategic Outbound Development & Account Reactivation
- Target and re-engage dormant commercial accounts, identifying equipment usage patterns and upcoming maintenance or parts requirements.
- Conduct consultative discovery calls with business owners, fleet managers, and buyers to position our client as their primary parts and service partner.
- Articulate clear value propositions, service agreements, and commercial incentives to drive account reactivation.
- Prioritize outreach based on high-margin locations and key geographic targets.
Opportunity Handoff & Pipeline Management
- Qualified sales/service opportunities: warm-transfer or schedule introductions directly with regional parts and service advisors.
- Provide comprehensive account briefs and detailed CRM notes to local service teams to ensure seamless onboarding.
- Maintain ongoing touchpoints with dealership location managers to ensure pipeline conversion and lead follow-through.
Multi-Channel Sales Campaigns
- Execute targeted multi-touch campaigns (phone, email, and SMS) using the company’s CRM platform.
- A/B test messaging strategies across different customer segments (e.g., municipalities vs. private contractors) to optimize response rates.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Methodically log call activity, conversion milestones, and account revenue impact in the CRM.
- Analyze key account churn factors, competitive dynamics, and lost-sales trends to inform regional strategy.
- Provide weekly pipeline forecasts and activity metrics to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in business development, B2B outbound sales, or account management.
- Exceptional spoken and written English, with the confidence to engage business owners, operations managers, and municipal directors.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate high call volumes, cold outreach, and complex sales objections.
- Highly organized, structured, and metrics-driven approach to pipeline tracking.
- Available for a full-time, long-term remote role matching US Central Time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in commercial equipment, heavy machinery, automotive, marine, or industrial dealership B2B sales.
- Conversational or business Spanish skills.
- Advanced proficiency in CRM platforms, cloud phone systems, and Microsoft Excel.
