Data Engineer

About this position

SoftTeco is looking for a Middle+/Senior Data Engineer to join a long-term international engagement focused on building data and AI platforms for insights-driven products. The role is primarily focused on Data Engineering and cloud infrastructure, with an emphasis on creating reusable, scalable solutions that can support data science workloads and future client projects.
The ideal candidate is an autonomous engineer with strong Python, AWS, and cloud architecture experience who is comfortable taking ownership of technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data and AI platform architecture
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting data-intensive and data science workloads
• Build reusable architecture patterns and templates for future projects
• Develop data engineering components and services using Python
• Implement and optimize cloud-native solutions on AWS
• Collaborate with the customer on technical architecture and implementation
• Support the development of applications and platform components for insights products
• Contribute to technical decisions and continuously improve platform solutions

Technical skills

• 5–7 years of experience as a Data Platform Engineer, Data Engineer, or Analytics Engineer;
• Strong hands-on experience in Data Engineering
• Strong Python skills
• Solid experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures
• Hands-on experience with AWS SageMaker
• Strong Terraform experience
• Experience designing and building platforms for AI/Data Science workloads
• Understanding of data pipelines and data-intensive applications
• GCP experience is a plus
• Experience with authentication solutions, preferably Keycloak, is a plus
• Frontend development experience is a plus

Non-technical skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong ownership and responsibility for technical solutions
• Ability to communicate directly with customers and technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working as part of a distributed international team
• Flexible and pragmatic approach to changing project requirements

Work schedule

• Part-time engagement initially
• Potential to expand involvement and team size as new projects become available
