About the Role
As a Frontend Developer, you’ll work on the frontend of an established recruitment platform, covering the ATS, careers sites and job board used every day by schools, trusts and candidates. This is a live product with real traffic rather than a new build.
A significant part of the platform currently runs on AngularJS and is being migrated to Angular 21. You’ll work across both sides of this transition: maintaining the existing AngularJS application, translating it into the new stack and developing new Angular 21 features.
You’ll also have a real say in the direction of the frontend, contributing to engineering decisions around performance, staged delivery and keeping the live platform stable throughout the migration.
- Maintain and support the existing AngularJS codebase while it remains live.
- Translate AngularJS components and features into Angular 21 in stages, without breaking what is in production.
- Build new features in Angular 21, using standalone components, signals for state, OnPush and sensible boundaries within the Nx monorepo.
- Turn business requirements into technical work, breaking features down, providing estimates and raising problems early rather than at the end of a sprint.
- Work in sprints and keep tickets up to date so the team has clear visibility of progress.
- Review pull requests and have your own pull requests reviewed.
- Keep track of Angular’s direction and identify when new developments are worth adopting.
- 3+ years of overall professional experience.
- Strong AngularJS skills, with the confidence to read, maintain and rewrite a live AngularJS codebase.
- 2+ years of experience building and shipping Angular applications using Angular 20 or above.
- Strong TypeScript skills.
- Strong knowledge of modern Angular, including standalone components, signals, the new control flow syntax and RxJS where it is the right tool.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to prioritise your own work without being chased.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience migrating a legacy frontend to a modern framework.
- Experience with Nx monorepos, PrimeNG, Angular Material and Vitest.
- Experience with C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Web API and Entity Framework.
- SQL Server experience, with the ability to read and write a good query.
- Experience with IIS and Windows Server.
- Experience with Bitbucket, JIRA, TeamCity and Octopus Deploy.
- Fixed Shifts — 12:00 PM – 9:30 PM IST (Summer) | 1:00 PM – 10:30 PM IST (Winter).
- No Weekend Work — Real work-life balance, not just words.
- Day 1 Benefits — Laptop and full medical insurance provided.
- Support That Matters — Mentorship, community, and forums where ideas are shared.
