Junior Sales Development Representative

About Slang AI

Slang AI is redefining customer engagement through conversational AI, making every interaction seamless and efficient. Our mission is to transform the restaurant industry by providing the ultimate voice AI solution for consistently outstanding customer experiences.

At Slang AI, we believe how we build matters just as much as what we build. We foster a culture rooted in hospitality, ownership, and clarity, where every “Slangsta” feels valued, supported, and connected to the broader impact of our work in the AI-powered future of restaurants.

What Your Experience Will Be

As a Sales Development Representative at Slang AI you'll be at the very front end of our growth engine - the person who first opens the door for our sales team to transform the way restaurants serve their guests. Day-to-day, your work lives in the outbound motion: researching restaurant operators who fit our Ideal Customer Profile, crafting compelling cold emails and LinkedIn messages, and picking up the phone to start real conversations with decision-makers. You'll be fast, disciplined, and creative - because getting through to busy operators takes all three.

You'll work closely with your Hiring Manager and Account Executives, handing off warm, well-qualified opportunities and collaborating with Marketing on campaigns and messaging. This role reports to the regional Sales Director, who is a hands-on coach invested in your growth, running weekly team trainings and 1:1 sessions where you'll dissect calls, iterate on sequences, and celebrate wins together. This is a fully remote role, with occasional travel for team offsites, company events, and key industry conferences. You'll work from wherever you do your best work, using Hubspot and AI tools that sharpen your prospecting and personalization. If you're the kind of person who loves the thrill of a conversation, the satisfaction of hitting a number, and the challenge of figuring out the most effective way to break through - this is your seat.

Why You Belong Here and How You Will Grow

At Slang AI we recruit with intention and we build with care. Our team is genuinely competitive (we're not going to apologize for that), but the competition is additive, not corrosive - the best performers share their playbooks because a rising tide lifts all ships.

You'll grow here because we build growth from the start. Your first 30 days come with: product immersion, shadowing AEs, learning our ICP inside and out, and calibrating your outreach with your manager before the dial starts turning up. After that, weekly team training, peer coaching, and a culture of transparency around metrics mean you always know how you're tracking and what to do about it. Slang's values - Overachiever Fever, AI Native, Humility Ability, and Be a Good Host - aren't posters on a wall; they're the actual operating principles of the team you're joining.

Being AI Native isn't an afterthought here. We use AI in how we sell, how we prospect, how we iterate on copy. You'll learn how to leverage these tools to multiply your output in ways most SDR teams haven't caught up to yet - and that's a real career advantage you'll carry with you long after this role. Whether you're aiming for AE, leadership, or something else entirely, you'll leave Slang with sharper instincts, better habits, and a network of people who want to see you win.

What Success Looks Like

• You proactively identify and research restaurant operators that match our Ideal Customer Profile, building a pipeline of well-qualified prospects week over week.
• You execute with daily discipline - 100+ outbound touchpoints per day, 5+ new prospects added to pipeline - regardless of how the previous day went.
• You consistently set 40+ qualified appointments per month (3+ locs), resulting in 20+ completed per month, handing off to Account Executives with enough context for them to run a great discovery call.
• You use active listening and smart questioning in your outreach and early conversations to surface real pain points around staffing, call volume, and guest experience.
• You collaborate openly with your AEs and the Marketing team, sharing what's resonating in the field and contributing to a unified, high-impact go-to-market message.
• You leverage AI tools and your own creativity to continuously test and improve your outreach sequences, subject lines, and call openers.
• You track your own funnel metrics with precision and come to 1:1s with data, hypotheses, and a clear plan to close the gap when you're behind.

What You Will Bring

• Experience in outbound sales, cold calling, or SDR/BDR work - you've made the calls, sent the sequences, and learned what works.
• Strong verbal and written communication - you can hook attention fast, conduct high quality prospect discovery and articulate value without jargon.
• A competitive nature grounded in curiosity - you want to know how you rank, why you rank there, and what you're going to do about it.
• Process orientation with adaptability - you thrive on structure and routine, and you can pivot your approach when the data tells you to.
• Active listening as a genuine skill, not a talking point - you take in what prospects say and reflect it back in ways that make them feel understood.
• AI fluency: you actively use AI tools in your day-to-day work for research, copy iteration, and productivity - not just awareness, but real, habitual use.
• Humility and a hunger for feedback - you don't just tolerate coaching, you seek it out.
• Preferred: experience in SaaS, hospitality technology, or selling to restaurant operators. Familiarity with Salesforce, Outreach, Apollo, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
