Junior / Senior Systems Engineer
The Junior / Senior Systems Engineer supports the development, modeling, characterization, calibration, and validation of sensor systems and spectral sensing products. The role contributes to translating product requirements into system specifications, validating system performance, and supporting product development activities across the entire lifecycle from concept through production readiness. The position works closely with multidisciplinary teams including MEMS, Optics, Electronics, Software, and Mechanical Engineering to ensure successful delivery of sensor solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development, design, modeling, and simulation of sensor systems and spectral sensing products.
Support the definition and allocation of system requirements and specifications to achieve target product performance.
Participate in system architecture studies, performance analysis, and trade-off evaluations.
Support system characterization activities and develop validation methodologies, test procedures, and performance assessments.
Contribute to the development and implementation of product calibration approaches, algorithms, and associated test setups.
Perform laboratory experiments, testing, characterization, data collection, and technical investigations to evaluate system performance.
Support failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective actions related to system performance issues.
Collaborate closely with MEMS, Optics, Electronics, Software, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams throughout product development and industrialization phases.
Support yield analysis and continuous improvement activities to enhance product performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
Prepare technical reports, characterization results, validation documentation, and engineering records.
Communicate technical progress, findings, risks, and recommendations to project teams and engineering leadership.
Support customer technical inquiries and application-related investigations in collaboration with Marketing and Product Management teams.
Contribute to the preparation of datasheets, application notes, technical documentation, and product specifications.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience Level: 0–2 years for the Systems Engineer role; 2–5 years for the Senior Systems Engineer role in systems engineering, sensor technologies, semiconductor products, spectroscopy, optics, or electronics.
Strong understanding of electronic and optical systems, integrated optics, MEMS technologies, signal processing, and system integration principles.
Experience (or familiarity for entry-level) in system modeling, simulation, characterization, calibration, and validation activities.
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, Octave, or equivalent technical computing tools.
Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation, measurement systems, automated test setups, and engineering experimentation.
Preferred Expertise: Knowledge of DSP algorithms, spectroscopy, chemometrics, or data analytics techniques.
Professional Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation capabilities, paired with excellent technical communication and cross-functional reporting skills.
