Job Overview

As a Senior Display Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, validating, debugging, and maintaining software for display systems running on Embedded Linux and Android platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including QA, system architects, platform developers, and hardware engineers to ensure robust display performance and reliability across product releases.

The ideal candidate combines strong embedded software expertise with deep knowledge of display drivers, graphics frameworks, and Android display architecture.

Responsibilities:

Software Validation & Quality

• Validate software releases to ensure display systems meet functional, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Execute and support lab testing activities for display-related features and system performance.
• Analyze test results and drive corrective actions for identified issues.
• Ensure software quality through verification, debugging, and continuous improvement activities.

Debugging, Triage & Root Cause Analysis

• Perform technical triage of defects reported by QA teams, test labs, and customers.
• Conduct detailed root-cause analysis of software and system-level issues.
• Develop temporary workarounds and permanent solutions to unblock development and validation teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex integration and platform issues.

Software Development

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain display-related software features.
• Implement enhancements to display frameworks, drivers, and system services.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Support software integration activities across platform and product teams.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Work closely with system architects, hardware engineers, and software development teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support project planning, technical reviews, and software release activities.
• Contribute to best practices for software development, testing, and debugging.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of embedded software development.
• Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in C/C++ development.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience working with Embedded Linux and/or Android platform development.
• Proven experience in display subsystem development, debugging, validation, and integration.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming.
• Extensive experience in Embedded Linux, RTOS, or Microcontroller (MCU) software development.
• Experience working with Android platform development.
• Solid understanding of embedded software architecture and system-level debugging.
• Proven experience analyzing complex software issues and driving resolutions.

Display & Graphics Expertise

Hands-on development experience with one or more of the following:

• Display Driver Development
• Android Display Framework
• SurfaceFlinger
• Hardware Composer (HWC)
• Display HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer)
• Android System Services
• Graphics Rendering Pipelines
• Display Bring-up and Validation

Debugging & Analysis

• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience using debugging and profiling tools in embedded environments.
• Ability to analyze logs, traces, driver interactions, and system behavior.
• Experience identifying bottlenecks and optimizing system behavior.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Qualcomm SOCs.
• Knowledge of display protocols and interfaces (MIPI-DSI, HDMI, DisplayPort, eDP).
• Experience with kernel-space and user-space driver development.
• Familiarity with graphics technologies such as OpenGL ES or Vulkan.
• Experience with automated testing and continuous integration systems.
• Exposure to hardware bring-up and board support package (BSP) development.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

We offer

The annual salary range for this role is $120,000 – $190,000.

The Annual Salary depends on various job-related factors, including professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
