The Data Center Technician is responsible for safely operating and maintaining critical MEP infrastructure while supporting reliable, 24/7 data center operations. Responsibilities include monitoring power and environmental conditions, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, completing site rounds, responding to incidents, and following MOP, SOP, EOP, CMMS, and Change Control procedures. The role also supports contractors, construction and commissioning activities, safety requirements, and the development of site procedures and standards. The technician works closely with the site team to maintain equipment reliability and achieve 100% uptime of critical infrastructure. 


Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers recommendations.
  • Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility.
  • Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities
  • Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding SF work rules and processes
  • Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event.
  • Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures.
  • Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management.
  • Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal safety laws and requirements
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
  • Participate in and support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation process for site.
    Participate in and support the development of site policies and standards
  • Work with site team members to deliver 100% uptime of critical infrastructure
 


Required Skills
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical or HVAC in an industrial environment
  • Evidence of self-management and alignment with ever-changing priorities
  • Good written and oral communication skills, tenacity, and working to a high level of accuracy


$25 - $30 a year

The listed salary range for this position is an estimate based on the competitive job market. Final compensation will be based on your own individual skills, experience, and location.
