We're looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join a Data Engineering team maintaining one of the larger single-server MS SQL analytical warehouses out there - 60+ TB running in an AlwaysOn availability group (2 servers: primary + read replica).
This is a fixed-term contract tied to a DWH migration to Google Cloud Platform. Once the migration is complete, the role wraps up β a well-defined, high-impact engagement rather than a permanent seat.
What you'll do:
β Advanced T-SQL work on MS SQL Server 2008β2019, incl. stored procedures run tens of millions of times a day
β Query/execution-plan optimization on a genuinely high-load analytical server (not typical OLTP)
β Support and maintain the AlwaysOn availability group
β Routine SQL Server administration β maintenance, recovery, security, data integrity
β Direct work with analysts and ML engineers on data access
What matters most:
Real hands-on experience with large tables β 1TB+ / 1B+ rows β rather than managing a large fleet of standard-size servers.
