Seer is a remote first agency and Certified B-Corp with team members working across the country. If an office environment is more your style, this position can also sit in our HQ office, Philadelphia. We can only consider candidates based in the US who are able to work continental US based hours.
The Role: You, the Team Lead, SEO + GEO, will own a portfolio of $800K–$1MM+ and lead a team of 6–8 people. You will operate as the executive-level SEO/GEO voice across your book of business — owning the C-suite relationship, proving long-term ROI to senior stakeholders, and ensuring the account team is running toward the right goals — while also directly managing, developing, and holding your team accountable to Seer's quality bar. You'll be both the strategic authority your clients trust and the people leader your team relies on for growth, direction, and support.
You're addicted to growth and development and it shows through the success you create for the people that surround you. Could this be love? Maybe.
- You will lead and manage a team of 6–8 people owning onboarding, performance management, coaching, and career development for your direct reports
- You will be a key player in growing divisional revenue, primarily through retaining your portfolio of clients, with a healthy dose of up-selling and cross-selling when appropriate
- You will build and maintain strong client relationships rooted in empathy, transparency, and the desire to help them exceed their goals
- You will own the executive relationship on your accounts, making inroads with CMOs and C-suite stakeholders, translating 5-year SEO and GEO ROI into terms that resonate at the leadership level, and ensuring Seer's strategic value is visible above the account team layer
- You will actively identify upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities across your portfolio — partnering with Paid Media, Creative, and Client Engagement to bring integrated growth recommendations to clients at the right moment
- You will be a driving force behind Seer's Organic offering, pushing the SEO + GEO service forward, pressure-testing what's working, and turning emerging AI-search practices into repeatable methodology your team and clients benefit from
- You will champion AI and innovation as a working discipline, not a buzzword: building AI fluency across your team, piloting new tools and workflows, and sharing what works (and what doesn't) with the broader org
- You'll set the bar for how Seer wins in organic search, across SEO and GEO, and translate that into direction for your team and account teams rather than executing it yourself. You bring business sense to the portfolio, not just channel expertise
- You will mentor and coach your direct reports and junior team members, giving them support on their work and investing in their growth
- You will help define the SEO team of tomorrow, hopping in on sourcing, interviewing, and selecting new members for your team
- You will drive thought leadership through sharing knowledge about the latest industry trends, tests and trials, both with Seer's clients and the larger digital marketing community
- Proven people management experience: you've led a team of comparable size (6–8), and you know how to hire, coach, give hard feedback, and develop people, not just review their work
- Hands-on SEO + GEO agency experience across Content Strategy, Enterprise SEO, PR, Paid Media, and/or Analytics. You drive integrated strategies, leveraging AI where appropriate to drive efficiencies, measuring the effectiveness (rankings, traffic, conversions, revenue) and always backing up your decisions with data
- Deep, hands-on GEO experience, you understand how AI Overviews, LLM-powered discovery, and generative search interfaces differ from traditional SEO, and you have tested, implemented, and can teach strategies to improve visibility across both. You see GEO as a growth area for the team, not a side project
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI as a working tool, you've used AI to change how you or your team operates, and you want to keep pushing that forward, not just adopt what's handed to you
- Superb client management skills. You drive conversation with C-level executives comfortably, educating and empowering those who don't "get" digital, while always connecting tactics to business goals
- Strong conflict resolution skills, shown through your ability to diffuse high-intensity situations for both clients and team members
- Experience navigating client organizations at the C-suite level, making inroads with CMOs, framing SEO and GEO impact in business terms (revenue, pipeline, lifetime value), and earning the trust of senior stakeholders who may have limited digital marketing context
- Consistent track record in seeing opportunities for account growth and driving increased revenue
- By Day 30: you will have completed division training, met 1:1 with each member of your team, and begun to support at least 2–4 impactful client initiatives
- By Day 60: you will be up and running at full capacity, supporting a full book of business and a full team, with regular cadences (1:1s, team syncs) in place
- By Day 90: you will be ready to expand your portfolio by kicking off 1–2 new clients, and will have identified at least one GEO or AI-driven initiative to roll out across your team
- Time-management, context-switching, and juggling multiple projects is quite challenging
- You do not want continued-learning and innovation to be an expectation
- Change management is difficult and you struggle with adapting to new tools and processes
- You'd rather stay in individual-contributor mode than take on direct people-management responsibility
- You’re uncomfortable in high stakes client-facing interactions, especially those that require you to think on your feet
- You have difficulty giving critic and feedback to those around you
- Your final offered compensation will be determined based on your skills and experience
- Evaluation of comp at least once a year
- Benefit highlights
