Meet your team
SAP Global Security & Cloud Compliance’s mission is to manage security and compliance risks for SAP by
reinforcing a security- and compliance-first culture and by aligning people, processes, and technology to protect
customer business operations, the company, and its employees.
Within this mission, the Human Security Risk & Compliance function is evolving from a training-centric model
toward a human-centric risk & compliance model that systematically identifies, mitigates, monitors, and reports
on human-centric security risks across SAP.
This role sits at the intersection of software security, secure development enablement, and Human Risk
Management, helping SAP embed security into engineering roles at scale through practical, measurable, and
business-relevant approaches.
What you’ll do
As a Community Manager in this role, you will deliver on the following key responsibilities:
Take ownership of SAP's internal security community, its members, cadence, formats, and channels, ensuring it remains active, welcoming, and valuable to security professionals, engineers, and interested colleagues alike
Analyze the current state of the community and establish a clear, measurable baseline of community health (active participation, contribution, engagement, retention) as the foundation for targeted, evidence-based improvement
Sustain and nurture the existing community: maintain its identity, relationships, and rhythm of activities, and act as a reliable point of contact and connector for members
- Design and run community activities that foster engagement and knowledge exchange (e.g., meetups, brown-bag sessions, community events, knowledge-sharing formats, champion/ambassador initiatives), in close coordination with technical subject matter experts
- Deliver bounded, additive improvements that raise participation and value, while preserving continuity and the community's established character
- Maintain clear documentation of the community's operating model, relationships, and ongoing initiatives to ensure continuity and a smooth handover at the end of the assignment
- In this role, you will be expected to:
- Grow measurable, sustained engagement within the security community and strengthen its role as a channel for security culture and security-first behavior
- Translate an analytical view of community health into practical initiatives with visible results
- Collaborate with security subject matter experts, enablement colleagues, and engineering stakeholders to keep community activities technically credible and relevant
- Operate as a dependable steward of the community, building trust with members and ensuring continuity throughout the assignment
What you bring
Bachelor's / Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Communications, Business, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business Informatics), or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience in community management, engagement, or comparable roles building and sustaining active professional or technical communities
- Sufficient security literacy to engage credibly with security professionals and engineers, able to follow technical discussion, understand the domain, and earn the trust of a technically demanding audience (a security background is a plus, but this is not a hands-on engineering role)
- Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect people and motivate voluntary participation
- Experience planning and running events, programs, or engagement formats, and measuring their impact through meaningful metrics rather than vanity numbers
- Analytical mindset: able to assess the current state of a community objectively and turn findings into practical, prioritized action
- Ability to work effectively with developers, architects, security professionals, and cross-functional stakeholders
- High level of motivation, ownership, and reliability, together with fluent English language skills. German is a plus.
