 What you'll do

As an Expert DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the technical governance of large-scale data center network infrastructure — owning architectural decisions, defining delivery standards, and ensuring engineering quality across EVPN/VXLAN fabric (Cisco Nexus 9k/NX-OS, ACI), core routing (ASR9k/NCS, IOS-XR), network security (FortiGate), Neutron routing (C8500, IOS-XE), load balancing (F5 R-Series, F5OS-A), and high-security modules (Thales/Utimaco)
• Driving end-to-end delivery of complex network infrastructure workstreams — from design through operational handover — within an agile delivery model
• Acting as the primary technical authority for network infrastructure in cross-organizational engagements with SAP Product Engineering, Platform Engineering, and external stakeholders
• Shaping and continuously improving the operating model for network delivery, including tooling, automation, and AI-assisted engineering practices
• Ensuring compliance with sovereign cloud and security frameworks, including SecNumCloud requirements for French cloud regions

In this role, you will also:

• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to DevOps Engineers and network engineering teams, raising the overall capability bar
• Lead engagement with third-party managed service providers — defining expectations, reviewing deliverables, and holding providers accountable to quality and timeline commitments
• Drive post-incident analysis and translate findings into architectural improvements and updated delivery standards
• Represent SAP Cloud Infrastructure Network Delivery in cross-organizational and cross-program technical forums
• Champion AI-assisted development, automation, and prototyping practices within the team, accelerating SAP's Autonomous Enterprise ambitions

What you bring

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in data center network engineering with deep expertise in EVPN/VXLAN fabric (Cisco Nexus 9k/NX-OS, ACI), core routing (IOS-XR), network security (FortiGate), Neutron routing (C8500, IOS-XE), load balancing (F5 R-Series, F5OS-A), and high-security modules (Thales/Utimaco)
• Proven experience as a technical authority — owning architectural decisions, defining standards, and driving delivery outcomes independently across complex, multi-team programs
• Strong technical project management skills with deep practical experience in agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban) and backlog-driven delivery at program scale
• Experience leading third-party managed service provider engagements — setting expectations, managing performance, and ensuring quality outcomes
• Ability to represent technical positions credibly in cross-organizational and executive-level forums
• AI adoption mindset — active use of AI-assisted tools in engineering and delivery practice
• SecNumCloud or equivalent sovereign cloud security framework knowledge required for French cloud region work
• Fluent English and French required
