What you’ll build:

• Contribute (design, implement and maintain) Gardener Extensions / Kubernetes controllers in Go.
• Over time become a Gardener maintainer and fulfill all related tasks and challenges: write Gardener Enhancement Proposals, attend Gardener Technical and Product steering Committee meetings, perform code reviews. Accept and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and other teams and translate their needs into scalable and maintainable solutions. 
• Attend Kubernetes meetings and contribute back in the upstream when needed.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies and best practices to keep us ahead of the curve.

What you bring:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a collaborative, proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to clearly communicate and present complex technical concepts
• Very good understanding of Kubernetes, cloud, and container technologies. 
• Proven hands-on software engineering experience with Go.
• At least 5-8 years of professional experience in a related field.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Profound background in agile software engineering. 
• Ability to positively inspire as well as build trust, seed confidence and align people on common goals. 
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
