Short Summary:
Sana aims to simplify healthcare access for small businesses. We are seeking an Underwriter to support new business underwriting for our small group level-funded product, balancing profitable growth with competitive offers.

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate employer group risk and determine appropriate pricing for level-funded plans
- Collaborate with Sales to craft competitive proposals and win business without compromising profitability
- Analyze risk factors and make informed, data-driven decisions
- Help design and refine underwriting guidelines, processes, and tools
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Actuarial, and Customer Success
- Monitor underwriting outcomes and market dynamics

Requirement:
- 3+ years of underwriting experience, ideally with a focus on small groups and/or level-funded products
- Strong understanding of health insurance pricing, risk assessment, and underwriting guidelines
- Excellent communicator with the ability to explain underwriting decisions to non-technical stakeholders
- Highly collaborative and proactive
- Experience working at an insurtech, carrier, or TPA focused on the small group market
- Familiarity with underwriting automation tools or systems
- Strong data analysis skills (Excel, etc.)
