Graphic & Technical Designer

COMPANY 🌱

RYZE was founded in 2019 by Andrée Werner and Rashad Hossain, out of a parents' basement, with a mission to change daily health, starting with the morning routine: a nutrient-dense mushroom coffee delivering clean energy, mental clarity, and immune support. Built on a Direct-to-Consumer foundation with a performance marketing engine, RYZE achieved hockey-stick growth and a community of over 1 million active subscribers.
DTC remains the foundation, but RYZE has expanded into mass retail, quickly becoming the #2 items in Target's overall coffee category and is now executing a multi-channel expansion, with a cross-category launch coming in early 2027. RYZE is uniquely positioned to redefine how people think about daily wellness.
We’re a lean, fast-moving, mission-driven team who believe daily rituals create the foundation for living your greatest life, and we’re just getting started!

WHAT YOU'LL DO 🎯

We’re hiring a Graphic & Technical Designer to own merch design from first sketch to production-ready files, supporting merch on site, at retail, on TikTok Shop, and at events. This role covers both sides of the discipline: creative concepting and the unglamorous details — Pantone matching, tech packs, and sample review — with equal care.

You’ll work closely with the Brand Merchandise & Production Manager to bring merch collections to life across apparel, drinkware, bags, stickers, keychains, packaging inserts, and event swag — building seasonal, launch, and event-specific collections that stay cohesive with the brand wherever they show up.

Responsibilities will include:

Graphic Design

• Concept and design merch across categories including apparel, drinkware, bags, stickers, keychains, packaging inserts, and event swag.
• Adapt brand identity, illustration, and typography to each product’s size, material, and print method.
• Build seasonal, launch, and event-specific merch collections that stay cohesive with the brand across site, retail, TikTok Shop, influencer, and experiential touchpoints.
• Create mockups and renderings for internal review and stakeholder approval.

Technical Design

• Produce tech packs with construction details, placements, measurements, colorways, trims, and labels.
• Prepare production-ready artwork: vector separations, Pantone and thread color callouts, embroidery and screen-print files, die lines, and bleed.
• Specify materials, fabrics, and decoration methods (screen print, embroidery, DTG, woven labels, enamel, debossing, and more).
• Review vendor samples and proofs against specs, and provide clear revision notes.
• Create and maintain the DTO for each merch order, documenting vendor pricing and artwork release so approvals are clear before production begins.

Production & Collaboration

• Work alongside the Merch Manager on production, and with vendors and factories to confirm feasibility, minimums, and timelines.
• Collaborate with the Merch Manager, Marketing, and Operations on budgets, quantities, and delivery deadlines.
• Maintain an organized library of merch files, specs, and approved vendor information.
• Flag cost, quality, or timeline risks early and propose alternatives.

Professional Qualifications

• 3+ years designing physical merchandise or consumer products, in-house or at an agency.
• Expert-level Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; strong across the full Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and more).
• Comfortable creating 3D mockups to present and refine merch designs before production.
• Experience with 3D rendering tools such as Blender, Adobe Dimension, CLO 3D, SketchUp, Keyshot, or Rhino.
• Hands-on experience building tech packs and production-ready files for apparel and/or hard goods.
• Strong grasp of print and decoration methods, color management, and file prep for each.
• Solid typography, layout, and illustration skills with a clear eye for brand consistency.
• Comfortable communicating with vendors and factories and reviewing physical samples.
• Strong organization: able to manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Figma and Asana for design collaboration and project tracking.
• Clear written and visual communication when giving feedback and documenting specs.

Core Compentencies

• Graphic design for merch — Concepts and executes across product categories with a strong eye for brand consistency, typography, and illustration. Knows what looks good on a mug vs. a tee.
• Technical design & file prep — Builds production-ready files correctly the first time — vector separations, Pantone callouts, embroidery files, die lines. Vendors can work from the files without back-and-forth.
• Tech pack development — Produces complete tech packs with construction details, placements, measurements, colorways, and trims that leave no room for interpretation.
• 3D rendering & mockup — Creates realistic mockups that let stakeholders approve designs with confidence before production begins.
• Sample & proof review — Catches spec deviations in physical samples and proofs and gives revision notes that get fixed on the next round.
• Cross-functional collaboration — Works effectively with the Merch Manager, Marketing, and Operations — and communicates clearly with vendors and factories.
• Risk flagging — Identifies cost, quality, or timeline risks early and comes with a proposed alternative, not just a problem.
