IT Software Integration & Automation Summer Intern

This is a hybrid position and some onsite presence is required. 

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and curious IT Development Intern to join our software integration team this summer. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience connecting business applications, developing automated workflows, and exploring both front-end and back-end development technologies.

Working alongside experienced developers, you will have opportunities to contribute to API integrations, data transformation scripts, web applications, and automation solutions. This internship is designed for students who have a foundation in programming and are eager to expand their technical skills through real-world projects.

You will gain exposure to technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML, and JSON, with opportunities to learn additional tools and frameworks based on project needs and your interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and testing integration workflows between internal and external software applications.
• Help develop and maintain automation scripts that streamline manual IT processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Work with data formats such as XML, JSON, and flat files to support application integrations and data transformations.
• Gain experience developing back-end components, REST APIs, and services using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Explore front-end development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS while contributing to web-based applications and internal tools.
• Collaborate with IT team members to understand application requirements, map data fields, and troubleshoot integration or API issues.
• Learn and apply software development best practices, including documentation, testing, debugging, and version control.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum team meetings, code reviews, and sprint planning sessions to gain exposure to collaborative software development.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Foundational understanding of programming concepts, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), preferably with some exposure to Java or a similar language.
• Basic familiarity with or interest in learning web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Interest in learning back-end development frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn data exchange formats such as XML and JSON.
• Basic understanding of or interest in learning RESTful APIs, web services, and application integrations.
• Exposure to scripting or automation concepts using languages such as Python, Bash, Power

The rate of pay for this role at the noted location is $24.00 / hour.
