Full Stack Product Engineer

Merch that moves business needs a platform that moves just as fast.

From scattered purchases without brand control, to the magic that happens when it all clicks: merch that makes a real impact, on one global platform customized for each client, as if they built it themselves.

That’s what we’re building at Exakt. The platform is up and running, but this is only the beginning. Now comes the most advanced part, and we’re looking for an engineer with the drive and the skills to build it on a global scale.

What you’ll do

You’ll build and own our merch platform, full stack: TypeScript and React on the frontend, Node APIs in the middle and a MedusaJS headless commerce backend, all running on GCP.
It’s live with our first clients, and the codebase is still young enough that your decisions will stick. From here, you’ll:

• Own the platform end to end, from architecture to checkout

• Refine and develop the product logic. One t-shirt can come in 62 colors and seven sizes, from several suppliers, production partners and locations. Find new ways to make it all run even more smoothly

• Take our client dashboard further, with the advanced features our clients didn’t know they needed, and even more transparency around orders, statistics and the environmental impact of what they buy

• Automate the manual work, on the platform and behind the scenes, so the team can spend more time on the creative work

• Set the technical direction with our founder, and help shape the team as we grow

Who you are

You enjoy figuring out what’s needed and making it happen without waiting to be asked. And you’re curious about the business behind the code, whether you’re shaping a feature or talking ideas through with a client, in English.

• You’re resourceful, and happy to use a smart existing solution instead of reinventing it

• You bring experience and an open mind. You know how to move fast, and you’re always curious about new ways of working

• You know when speed matters more than perfection, and you make sure the quick fix doesn’t become permanent

• You work AI-first, and take security and client data just as seriously

• You like people, and you’d rather be at the office with the team than on mute

You’re comfortable across backend and frontend, and our designers take care of the design. Experience with e-commerce, Medusa or multi-tenant platforms is a plus, but not a must.

Tech you’ll work with

We’re guessing you already have the essentials. The limited editions are a bonus, and the rest you’ll pick up along the way.

• The essentials: TypeScript, React, Node, PostgreSQL, Git, and GCP or a similar cloud platform

• The limited editions: MedusaJS, Next.js, Redis, Prisma, Terraform, Clerk, Stripe

About Exakt

Exakt, the world’s boldest merch agency since 2004. Bold, but true. We start with who a brand wants to reach and what it wants to say, and help turn that into products people keep, use and remember. Our clients feel safe with us. They know they’ll get the right thing, on time and delivered to the right place.

We’ve run webshops for our clients for more than 10 years. Now we’re scaling up our platform, continuously building new processes around our clients’ needs and our own workflow efficiency, and automating more and more of what has been done by hand. The whole process, and the service and ownership we’re known for, become transparent and easy to follow.

With new print techniques, new ways of working with our print partners and years of industry know-how, we have turned our knowledge into a platform that’s unique in our industry.

Picture a company where everyone, from sales and marketing to HR and finance, gets the merch they need from one place. Always on brand and always the strongest choice for the target group, whether it’s printed on demand, custom-made or shipped from stock, with full control over costs and climate impact. Behind it sits a multi-tenant platform built around each client. There’s no off-the-shelf solution for this, so we’re building our own.

We work with brands like Samsung, Electrolux and KRY, and things are going well: we’re profitable, growing fast and have never needed venture capital. Put our merch expertise together with a platform that handles every part of it, and you get something no one else offers.

Why Exakt

You’ll have real ownership of the tech from day one, with the influence of a startup in a company that’s already on solid ground. Exakt is known in our industry for always being a step ahead, in how we work with ideas, proposals, solutions and suppliers, so you really get the best of both worlds. We’re a team of eight with zero prestige, and we’re growing, looking for the right expertise to expand our team in every area. We support each other through whatever comes our way, celebrate together, eat lunch together and take our merch-cap throwing competitions a little too seriously.

You’ll find us at our office on Lidingö, where client work happens in English and office chat in Swedish, so you’ll need to understand it.
