Junior Software Engineer

The Junior Full Stack Software Engineer will support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) by performing software activities focused on creating web-based tools aimed at decreasing user friction and improving usability of existing complex Modeling and Simulation systems. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate experience and an eye for clean layouts, typography, and intuitive user workflows via personal portfolio or open-source contributions.

While work from home is available, once the candidate holds a TS/SCI security clearance it is expected to work onsite at Wright Patterson AFB, at a minimum once a week.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or relevant STEM field
• 3.0 GPA or higher. (GPA must be on resume to be considered).
• U.S Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

Required Experience

• 0-2 years of Experience with web front end development using React or Angular
• 0-2years of Experience with server-side languages, such as NodeJS, Python
• 0-2 years of Experience with version control software (ex Git)

Required Skills

• Ability to communicate technical details of work
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and take ownership for segments of a project

Desired Experience

• Secret Security Clearance or higher is a plus but not required
• Experience working with simulation frameworks, such as AFSIM, ITASE and/or NGTS
• Experience with Docker (containerized deployment) is a plus
• Experience utilizing NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB is a plus
• Experience with Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines utilizing Gitlab CI or Jenkins is a plus
• Experience with HELM is a plus
• Experience with bug/issue tracking software such as JIRA is a plus
• Experience with RESTful web services is a plus
