The Opportunity

The Sales Executive is responsible for driving new business growth by acquiring new logos within the US market. This role owns the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and prospecting through to contract closure, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for potential clients. The Sales Executive orchestrates internal teams to develop and present compelling, client-specific solutions that address prospect needs and differentiate Rackspace in the marketplace. Upon successful deal closure, the role ensures a smooth transition and handoff to the designated client partner or customer success manager for ongoing relationship management.

We're looking for a senior, quota-carrying enterprise seller who combines deep Private Equity and Value Creation domain fluency with a proven ability to sell AI and data-led transformation directly to Line of Business executives. The successful candidate will understand how Private Equity firms create value across portfolio companies and be comfortable engaging Operating Partners, Value Creation leaders, Portfolio CEOs and Private Equity sponsors in discussions around growth, operational performance, transformation and enterprise value creation.

You will use your Private Equity expertise to uncover business problems, identify where AI can create value and develop opportunities that may not already exist. A critical part of this role is the ability to identify where AI can solve real business challenges within portfolio companies and value creation programs. We're looking for someone with experience selling AI-led transformation to business stakeholders who understands how to move the conversation beyond technology and connect it directly to measurable business outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Hunt, develop and close net-new enterprise opportunities centred on Private Equity, Value Creation and AI-led transformation.

• Build a high-quality pipeline through targeted prospecting, executive networking, industry relationships and strategic account development.

• Establish trusted relationships with Operating Partners, Managing Directors, Portfolio CEOs, CFOs and Value Creation leaders.

• Lead executive-level discovery conversations to uncover business challenges, transformation priorities and opportunities for AI, data and automation to drive measurable business value.

• Translate business needs into compelling business cases, transformation programmes and solution opportunities.

• Orchestrate Rackspace AI, data, cloud, applications and services teams to design and deliver tailored client solutions.

• Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder buying cycles from initial engagement through commercial negotiation and contract signature.

• Manage the end-to-end sales process, maintaining accurate pipeline, forecasting and CRM data.

• Consistently achieve or exceed new-logo bookings, revenue and profitability targets while ensuring a seamless handover to client partners for ongoing relationship management.

Experience We're Looking For

• Senior quota-carrying enterprise sales experience.

• A demonstrable track record of generating net-new pipeline and winning new customers.

• Deep domain fluency within Private Equity, portfolio operations or value creation.

• Proven experience selling AI, data, analytics or AI-enabled transformation solutions.
• Experience selling AI-enabled transformation programmes directly to Line of Business executives.
• Credibility engaging Operating Partners, Managing Directors, Portfolio CEOs, CFOs and senior business leaders.

• Evidence of personally creating opportunities rather than primarily responding to established demand.

• Ability to connect business challenges to measurable financial and operational outcomes, including EBITDA growth and enterprise value creation.

• Experience navigating complex, consultative enterprise sales cycles.

• Strong executive presence, commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

The Person We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can walk into a first meeting with an Operating Partner, Portfolio CEO or Value Creation leader and have a credible conversation about EBITDA growth, operational efficiency, revenue acceleration, working capital, transformation priorities and enterprise value creation.

You'll understand how to uncover where the organization is struggling and then ask:

Where could AI materially change this outcome?”.

From there, you'll be able to move the customer through:

Challenge → AI opportunity → business case → executive sponsorship → transformation engagement.

Rackspace can surround you with deep AI, cloud, engineering and delivery expertise. You bring the Private Equity credibility, executive relationships, commercial instincts and ability to convert strategic conversations into net-new revenue opportunities.

Why Join Rackspace?

This is an opportunity to help define and build a high-growth go-to-market motion focused on AI-led value creation within the Private Equity community.

You'll work directly with senior investment professionals, value creation leaders and portfolio executives, helping them unlock measurable business outcomes through the application of AI, data and modern technology platforms.

For a high-performing seller with Private Equity credibility and AI transformation experience, this is an opportunity to shape a category-defining go-to-market motion, influence executive agendas and create transformational business outcomes across some of the world's most ambitious investment-backed organisations.
