Role: Associate Architect – Software Developer

What you’ll do:

Quantiphi is seeking an Associate Architect - Software Developer to architect, build, and optimize scalable, high-performance web applications within a modern Java-based microservices architecture. In this role, you will lead the full software development lifecycle from design and API implementation to rigorous testing and performance optimization using frameworks like Spring Boot and React/Angular. You will drive engineering initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver robust, maintainable, and clean code that solves complex technical challenges and creates meaningful business impact.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Determine, prioritize, and manage engineering deliverables across the complete software development lifecycle.
• Partner with business stakeholders to continuously refine and iterate on technical product specifications.
• Architect and deliver robust applications by writing high-performing, maintainable, and clean code.
• Streamline operational workflows and repetitive engineering tasks through effective automation scripts and tools.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and optimize complex software systems to maintain high performance.
• Execute rigorous validation and testing protocols using modern test-driven development practices.
• Conduct thorough peer code reviews while actively participating in feedback sessions for continuous improvement.
• Work cross-functionally with internal engineering units and external partners to enhance solution architecture.
• Keep application stacks aligned with modern technical standards and industry best practices.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

• Proven expertise in developing performant, clean Java software across large-scale systems.
• Hands-on experience architecting backend microservices utilizing Spring Boot frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building frontend interfaces using modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Deep technical proficiency with relational databases including MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Extensive background in designing and implementing robust RESTful web API endpoints.
• Strong commitment to test-driven development methodologies and automated testing practices.
• Practical experience using Generative AI coding assistants such as Claude Code/GitHub Copilot within Spec-Driven Development (SDD) workflows to build clear, testable, contract-first applications and APIs.
• Advanced mastery of Git version control protocols for collaborative code management.
• Familiarity with enterprise performance management platforms like DataDog and New Relic.
• Practical knowledge of automated test suites including Selenium, Cypress, and RestAssured.
• Exceptional organizational capabilities, analytical thinking skills, and individual technical leadership.
• Self-directed professional capable of driving engineering initiatives with minimal guidance.
• Comfortable navigating unfamiliar technologies and continuous learning environments.
• Collaborative mindset with a strong track record of effective cross-functional teamwork.
• Analytical mindset focused on systematic technical troubleshooting and resolution.
• Demonstrated history of delivering impactful engineering solutions in fast-paced settings.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely aligned technical field.

Nice to have Skills:

• Proficiency in automated browser testing via Selenium combined with enterprise cloud ecosystem experience.
• Container orchestration and service mesh deployment expertise using Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio.
• Infrastructure configuration management and automation provisioning with Ansible.
• Continuous integration and deployment pipeline engineering with Jenkins.
• Foundational domain knowledge in Unix/Linux operating environments and IP network fundamentals.
• Architectural experience utilizing major cloud platforms including AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Implementation of modern identity standards such as OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
• Prior background engineering enterprise-grade multi-tenant SaaS platform environments.
• Working knowledge of distributed systems and Service-Oriented Architecture principles.
• Scripting mastery using languages such as Python, Bash, or Groovy.
• Proven history supporting mission-critical production systems and handling site reliability escalation.
• Track record of mentoring junior engineering talent and promoting technical growth within teams.
