The Senior Technical Project & Release Manager is accountable for establishing and monitoring the entire project lifecycle, driving predictable delivery of automotive wireless communication chipset products. The role coordinates cross-functional execution across systems, modem, software, RF, validation, quality, operations, and release stakeholders, while maintaining alignment to program objectives, product scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, and commitments.

This position owns the long-term project-management dimension of the lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning

  • Own the integrated long-term project plan, scope, milestones, dependencies and work packages.

  • Coordinate cross-functional commitments and monitor progress, schedule health, deliverables, and corrective actions.

  • Ensure consistency across project plans, release plans, schedules, scope, and approved changes.

Risk Management

  • Own the project risk-management approach, including identification, analysis, treatment, escalation, and closure.

  • Lead risk reviews, monitor mitigation effectiveness, and drive corrective action or escalation when needed.

Measurement and Performance Management

  • Define project measures for schedule, scope, risks, issues, dependencies, readiness, and delivery performance.

  • Use trends and thresholds to guide decisions, communicate deviations, and track corrective actions to closure.

  • Track planned versus actual performance across milestones, deliverables, effort, scope changes, and release readiness; analyze variances and drive corrective actions when deviations exceed agreed thresholds.

Lessons Learned and Process Improvement

  • Lead lessons-learned activities, capture improvement opportunities, and prioritize actions based on project evidence.

  • Track improvements to completion and verify that they improve future projects or process performance.

Release Governance Interface

  • Partner with the Release & Integration Manager on release objectives, readiness expectations, and decision criteria.

  • Own project-level release gating and release-note accountability; receive technical, configuration, risk, and readiness inputs from the responsible owners.

  • Ensure release decisions are evidence-based, documented, and acknowledged by the required stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline; advanced degree is a plus.

  • Significant experience (>10 years) leading complex semiconductor, embedded systems, automotive electronics, wireless communications, modem, SoC, or comparable multi -disciplinary technology programs.

  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional development programs from planning through release and closure.

  • Strong experience with project planning, risk management, dependency management, metrics, governance, and continuous improvement.

  • Experience working in a structured product-development or process-assurance environment; familiarity with Automotive SPICE is highly desirable.

  • Ability to operate effectively across geographically distributed engineering and business teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level status communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive wireless communication technologies, V2X, cellular, connectivity, modem systems, multi-core SoC platforms, or PHY / system validation.

  • Experience with Jira or comparable lifecycle-management tools, configuration-management systems, dashboards, and structured change-control workflows.

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum, SAFe, Automotive SPICE, or comparable professional certification.

  • Experience coordinating releases involving hardware, firmware, software, test infrastructure, documentation, and customer or partner deliverables.

  • Working knowledge of product-development standards, audit readiness, traceability, and evidence-based governance.

Success Measures

Success in this role is demonstrated by predictable project execution, transparent risk and dependency management, timely and actionable metrics, effective cross-functional decisions, disciplined closure of commitments, reusable lessons learned, and release decisions supported by complete and credible evidence.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 4+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
