ABOUT THE ROLE

Prompt.io™ is looking for a Software Engineer to help build, maintain, and improve the technology that powers our platform. You’ll work closely with Engineering and Product to develop new features, improve existing functionality, and ensure our applications are reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
We’re looking for an engineer who can independently own and deliver technical work, make sound decisions within their area, and collaborate effectively with the broader team. You’ll work across different parts of our technology stack and have meaningful ownership of the products and systems you help build.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, build, test, and maintain production web applications, services, and APIs.
• Own features and technical projects from development through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product to scope, design, and deliver new features and improvements.
• Develop and maintain services and APIs that power our applications.
• Write clean, reusable, well-tested, and maintainable code.
• Work across front-end and back-end systems to deliver complete solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and production problems.
• Contribute to the performance, scalability, reliability, and security of our applications.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team planning.
• Contribute to improving our development practices and overall code quality.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to independently contribute to production software.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• Strong experience developing web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React.
• Experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language.
• Experience building and consuming APIs and working with service-based architectures.
• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with microservices and cloud-based applications.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Understanding of software testing, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems and deliver solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $100,000–$150,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.
