Senior Software Engineer
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (IC3) to join Procore’s Maps, Location, and Assets engineering team. In this role, you’ll drive the technical evolution of spatial data, mapping workflows, and asset tracking across Procore’s platform. Your primary goal is to design, build, and operate scalable, resilient solutions while leveraging cutting-edge, AI-assisted engineering practices to push the boundaries of how modern software is built and delivered.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver full-stack capabilities, integrate location intelligence into enterprise workflows, and mentor team members on technical craft. Use your full-stack software architecture, technical adaptability, and systems-at-scale expertise to turn disconnected data into a unified platform for job sites worldwide. Join us to transform construction technology—Apply today!
This position reports into Amy Panek and will be based in our Bengaluru office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership: Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications across Maps, Location, and Assets. Lead complex architectural evolution while balancing operational delivery with long-term system performance.
Feature Execution & AI Integration: Own feature lifecycles end-to-end. Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while applying engineering guardrails to maintain high code quality.
Testing & Reliability: Establish comprehensive test strategies and acceptance criteria prior to implementation, ensuring high reliability, graceful degradation, and smooth feature flag rollouts.
Observability & Debugging: Instrument features with robust observability to monitor performance SLIs, security posture, and resource consumption. Debug complex, distributed software issues across client, server, and cloud infrastructure environments.
Technical Clarity & Documentation: Document complex technical decisions, maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and foster technical clarity across the engineering organization.
Mentorship & Quality: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through detailed code reviews, architectural guidance, and best practices in modern software delivery.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 5+ years of combined software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on building scalable web-based solutions.
Tech Stack Expertise: Full-stack expertise in modern web frameworks and service-oriented architectures, with practical experience in our stack or similar tools: TypeScript, React, Node.js, Java, Postgres, AWS, and Terraform.
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, a related STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Engineering Impact: Strong track record of contributing to large engineering initiatives, system reliability, production observability, and operational best practices.
Problem Solving & Communication: Outstanding debugging, documentation, and communication skills, with a proven ability to simplify complex system designs for cross-functional partners.
Mindset: Adaptable, growth-oriented mindset with a strong willingness to work flexibly across different product domains.
Preferable to have experience with or a strong interest in GIS and spatial data visualization (e.g., Mapbox, MapLibre, Leaflet, or PostGIS).
