Senior SEO Strategist

Ready to shape the future of B2B SaaS SEO while working with some of the fastest-growing companies in tech?

If you're equally passionate about driving strategic SEO initiatives and building strong senior client relationships, we want to talk to you.

We're looking for an SEO Strategist who can lead client conversations, turn SEO complexity into clear business recommendations, and confidently explain what matters, why it matters, and what should happen next.

Our Mission at Powered by Search

We exist to make B2B SaaS companies unstoppable.

We're on a mission to be the best in the world at SaaS marketing — doing work we love, with people we like, how we want.

The Opportunity

As a trusted advisor to fast-growing B2B SaaS companies, you'll join an elite team rated 5/5 ★★★★★ on Glassdoor, where 99% of team members recommend us to their peers.

This is a client-facing strategic SEO role. You won’t just be auditing websites or creating recommendations in isolation. You’ll be expected to lead conversations, explain tradeoffs, guide clients toward decisions, and connect SEO work to business outcomes.

You'll have the freedom to:

• Drive holistic SEO strategies that deliver measurable business impact
• Build strong, strategic relationships with SaaS marketing leaders
• Shape the future of SEO in an AI-first search landscape
• Work with a team that values strategic thinking as much as technical expertise
• Own client outcomes through clear strategy, communication, and follow-through

What Sets You Apart

You're an ideal fit if you:

• Can lead senior client conversations with clarity, confidence, and commercial judgment
• Translate technical SEO insights into plain-English business recommendations
• Connect SEO initiatives to pipeline, revenue, retention, and client priorities
• Build trust with clients by communicating clearly, proactively, and directly
• Get energized by analyzing data and uncovering actionable insights
• Know how to turn messy SEO data into a clear story and next steps
• Are comfortable challenging assumptions, clarifying tradeoffs, and guiding clients toward decisions
• Love staying ahead of emerging SEO trends, especially in AI and semantic search
• Embrace our core values:
• • Give a Sh!t
  • Always Be in It To Win It
  • Be Obsessed with Serving Others
  • Practice a Growth Mindset
  • When We Fail, We Don't Lose the Lesson

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership — 40%

• Develop comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with B2B SaaS business goals
• Lead strategic client communications, monthly/quarterly reviews, and senior stakeholder conversations
• Create and present clear performance narratives that explain results, tradeoffs, risks, and next actions
• Turn data, rankings, traffic, pipeline, and conversion signals into practical SEO recommendations
• Push client conversations toward decisions, priorities, and committed next steps
• Drive innovation in AI-enhanced SEO strategies

Client Success — 40%

• Manage and grow a portfolio of 3–5 B2B SaaS clients
• Build trust with senior marketing, demand generation, product marketing, and executive stakeholders
• Lead strategic planning sessions, performance reviews, and client calls with confidence
• Proactively identify risks, opportunities, blockers, and next steps before the client has to ask
• Own follow-through by making sure client conversations end with clear actions, owners, and timelines
• Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations in a way clients can understand and act on

Technical Excellence — 20%

• Guide technical SEO implementation and optimization
• Identify technical, content, and authority-building opportunities that can improve organic performance
• Develop and optimize conversion-focused SEO funnels
• Integrate GA4, GTM, and reporting tools to generate useful performance insights
• Recommend and guide advanced schema markup strategies
• Prioritize SEO recommendations based on business impact, effort, and implementation realities

Required Experience

• 4+ years of SEO experience, with at least 2 year focused on B2B SaaS
• Previous experience in a client-facing SEO strategy role where you owned client communication, not just execution
• Proven track record of driving organic growth for B2B or enterprise clients
• Strong portfolio of successful client relationships and retention
• Deep understanding of technical SEO, content strategy, analytics, and SEO performance measurement
• Experience with GA4, GTM, and modern SEO tools
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to lead client calls, explain SEO recommendations clearly, and write concise client-ready updates
• Strong judgment in prioritizing SEO work based on business impact, client context, and implementation realities
• Ability to present performance, risks, opportunities, and next steps clearly to senior stakeholders

This Role May Not Be a Fit If

• You prefer doing SEO execution without leading client conversations
• You struggle to explain SEO concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• You need someone else to turn your analysis into client-ready recommendations
• You are uncomfortable challenging assumptions, clarifying tradeoffs, or guiding senior clients toward decisions
• Your written or spoken English is not strong enough for live client-facing strategy conversations
• You prefer being handed tasks rather than owning outcomes, priorities, and client follow-through

Why Join Us?

• Work with a team that values strategic thinking and innovation
• Competitive base salary plus quarterly performance bonuses
• 5 weeks of paid time off
• Fully remote work environment with flexible hours — you just need at least 4 hours of daily overlap with North American time zones
• Comprehensive health spending account and eye/dental/medical benefits for Canadian residents
• Regular team meetups and annual retreats
• Clear career progression path without requiring a management track
• Exposure to industry-leading B2B SaaS companies
• Weekly 1:1 coaching with experienced managers
• Access to proven playbooks, frameworks, and professional development opportunities
