Middle Social & Community Manager, New Ventures
Pomelo Care is the leading virtual medical practice for women and children, providing care across pregnancy, postpartum, pediatrics, menopause, and perimenopause. We combine proactive, 24/7 clinical care with technology that helps us reach patients earlier, identify risks sooner, and deliver personalized care throughout their journey. Our team includes clinicians, technologists, operators, and problem-solvers working together to make high-quality care more accessible for families nationwide.
Your North Star: Build, nurture, and scale Pomelo’s organic social presence and patient communities to earn trust, drive brand awareness, and channel real-time patient insights back into our marketing, product, and care delivery.
As our Social & Community Manager, you will own Pomelo’s organic footprint and community strategy end-to-end. You are someone who deeply understands our current and future patients, lives on social platforms, understands digital and health culture, and knows how to show up as an authentic, human voice rather than a corporate account. You will read trends, create compelling content tailored to our core patient profiles, build vibrant spaces for patients to connect, and bring critical community learnings back to the broader team to continuously improve the overall patient experience. This position is dedicated to our new DTC (peri)menopause program, reports directly to the Head of Growth (New Ventures), and is open to remote candidates across the continental US.
What You'll Do:
Own & Grow Organic Social: Track cultural and health conversations in real time across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other channels. Draft and publish compelling, platform-native content that resonates with our core patient profile, demystifies complex clinical topics, and builds brand trust.
Build Community Online & Offline: Establish, moderate, and nurture online communities (social threads, patient groups, forums) while planning and executing virtual and in-person community moments (webinars, support groups, panels, and meetups). Keep all spaces warm, safe, inclusive, and highly engaged.
Bridge Learnings to Clinical & Marketing Teams: Serve as the primary advocate and feedback loop for our patients. Continuously surface community sentiment, common patient questions (around pricing, insurance, treatments, clinical workflows, etc.), and content performance data to help marketing, product, and clinical operations optimize messaging and improve the patient experience.
Manage the Content Calendar & Voice: Plan, schedule, and maintain a consistent, multi-channel organic social calendar. Balance speed with craft, knowing when raw, quick-turn social content vs. polished educational content is the right choice.
Creator & User Content Collaboration: Source, curate, and amplify authentic stories from patients and clinicians. Partner with influencer and marketing teams to highlight real experiences that build credibility and brand love.
Measure, Report & Optimize: Define and track meaningful community health and social metrics (engagement quality, sentiment, follower growth, reach, and site traffic) rather than just vanity numbers. Share actionable reporting with leadership to refine strategy over time.
Who You Are:
Experienced Community & Social Specialist: 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing organic social channels and growing online / offline communities, ideally for a consumer-facing, high-trust brand.
Empathetic & Authentic Writer: You write in a warm, human voice that earns engagement and builds deep trust across sensitive life stages (pregnancy, parenting, menopause).
Trend-Literate & Cultural Barometer: You have a strong instinct for digital culture and social trends. You know what is worth reacting to, how to frame narrative moments, and what to ignore.
Offline & Online Event Operator: Comfortable planning and facilitating both virtual panels / webinars and local in-person community touchpoints.
Data-Informed & Insight-Driven: Skilled at monitoring community health, identifying emerging themes, and translating qualitative feedback and quantitative metrics into clear strategy recommendations.
Self-Starter & Cross-Functional Collaborator: Highly organized, proactive in taking concepts from idea to publication, and energized by working closely with marketing, clinical, and product teams.
Bonus points if you have any of the following:
Experience in healthcare, women's health, pediatrics, or regulated consumer spaces.
Short-form video creation / graphic design skills
Experience building or managing brand ambassador / advocacy programs.
Compensation
The expected base salary range offered for this role is $95,000-$110,000. This role is also eligible for equity, giving you an ownership stake in Pomelo’s mission. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, competencies, and certifications.
