About the right team member
Playlist is seeking a highly motivated Business Intelligence Analyst II to help build our People Analytics function. Sitting on our centralized Business Intelligence team, this role partners closely with People & Culture, Finance, and business unit leadership to turn workforce data into insight on hiring, retention, and organizational health. You'll help develop the data foundation that connects the full employee lifecycle, define the metrics leaders rely on, and deliver analysis that shapes how we invest in our people. This role is a strong fit for a systems thinker who enjoys building something new, handles sensitive data with care and good judgment, and wants their work to directly inform how the company hires, grows, and retains talent.
About the role
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and turn ambiguous questions into structured analysis
Design and maintain robust data models using SQL in dbt that create a single source of truth for workforce metrics
Develop dashboards and data visualizations in Sigma and Hex that make workforce insights clear and actionable for People & Culture and business leadership
Translate complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives that help business stakeholders understand the "so what" and act on it
Create and manage a roadmap with primary business stakeholders to define goals, prioritize work, and communicate expected timelines and deliverables
Conduct ad hoc analysis and provide recommendations to teams for improving business processes and strategy
Skills & experience
Bachelor’s degree, quantitative field preferred
Experience in Business Intelligence or a similar role
Prior experience working with people analytics or People teams (such as talent acquisition, HRIS, etc.)
Familiarity with HR systems such as Greenhouse, Dayforce, or similar platforms is a plus
Advanced SQL skills (experience with Snowflake and dbt is a plus)
Experience developing data models in cloud data warehouses, proven ability to transform messy or unstructured data into robust, well-organized data models
Familiarity with BI tools and platforms (Tableau, Sigma, Fivetran, ETL pipelines, dbt, Excel)
Strong data storyteller, able to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Collaborative approach to problem-solving and team dynamics
Detail-oriented; loves finding “edge cases” and ensures data accuracy by troubleshooting, testing, and carefully reviewing output
Familiarity with road mapping or sprint cycles; is able to communicate priorities and meet deadlines
