Hardware Product Manager
Build Peripass' hardware domain within a growing SaaS organisation. Own the hardware offering that runs on customer yards: decide what we sell, which vendors we work with and how customers install and support it. This is real ownership of a hardware portfolio: stay close to real sites while turning one-off solutions into a scalable product offering.
Logistics? Maybe not what you dreamed of as a kid. But building a fast-growing international SaaS scale-up that's transforming how some of the world's largest industrial companies operate? That's a different story.
Peripass is a tech company at heart. We build software that digitises and automates complex logistics environments for companies like Bridgestone, Alpro and ArcelorMittal. These companies have hundreds of trucks (un)loading every month, and our SaaS platform helps them orchestrate that whole process. International enterprise companies use Peripass' high-impact SaaS platform in their operations.
The Hardware Product Manager owns everything physical that Peripass puts on a customer's yard, plus the systems we integrate with on site.
-
Build a hardware roadmap from customer and field feedback, device and usage data, and the vendor landscape across access control, weighing, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), sensors and edge devices.
-
Spend time with drivers at kiosks, yard operators, customer IT teams and installers. Account for weather, dust, vandalism, mounting, power, networking, and site IT and security policies.
-
Make make-versus-buy and standardise-versus-customise decisions, including business cases that consider bill of materials, margin, the rate at which customers add hardware to their subscription, lead times and installation cost.
-
Run field trials and pilots before general availability, and prioritise offerings that serve more than a few customers.
-
Own relationships with hardware vendors, integrators and installation partners, including selection, qualification, commercial terms, roadmap alignment and escalation. Maintain a qualified alternative for every critical component.
-
Create development briefings for hardware and integration initiatives; work in short iterations with Engineering and vendors; and contribute to firmware and edge-device releases and quality assurance.
-
Ensure each offering is ready to sell and support: specifications, compliance and certification requirements, installation and configuration documentation, monitoring and a support path.
-
Manage the hardware catalogue, including configurations, pricing and margin.
-
Manage the full component lifecycle, including versions, spare parts, warranty and return merchandise authorisation (RMA) flows, end of life and customer migration paths.
-
Support solutioning, quoting and requests for proposals (RFPs), and enable installers, implementation consultants and Support through site-survey templates, installation guides, configuration defaults and troubleshooting documentation.
-
Drive remote monitoring and diagnostics so you can address failing components before they affect customers.
-
You will make sure every catalogue offering has an up-to-date specification, installation guide, monitoring and documented support path.
-
You will reduce hardware and integration escalations to Product & Engineering, prevent access-control-system and weighing integrations from blocking go-lives, and maintain a qualified alternative and known lifecycle status for every critical component.
You will be part of our Product team and report to the VP Product Matti Desmet. You will work daily with Service Delivery, Support, Sales, Product Solution Experts, Customer Success, Product & Engineering, and external hardware and installation partners.

Probably by now, you already have a good idea of who we are looking for, but here are some pointers:
-
You have at least four years of relevant experience owning, delivering or supporting hardware that shipped and remained in the field. This could be in a hardware integration, technical product, application engineering, project engineering, technical presales or field role.
-
You have experience with access control, weighing, gate and barrier systems, industrial automation or a similarly site-dependent hardware domain. You understand integrations and common failure modes.
-
You understand Representational State Transfer (REST) and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) APIs, logging and monitoring.
-
You can turn concepts into workable solutions, negotiate with stakeholders and explain complex technical topics clearly to customers and colleagues.

-
You can work from our Ghent office three days per week and travel to customer yards when the work calls for it.
-
Network and infrastructure knowledge, such as assigning network addresses, configuring routers, network security and security certificates, is a plus.
-
Experience with edge devices, IoT connectivity such as 4G, industrial hardware, or hardware compliance and certification requirements is a plus.
