Senior Business Consultant
Senior Business Consultants write the requirements, build to the design, run the testing and own what they submit. You carry a workstream's requirements and build with an architect leading the client, and on smaller engagements you step into owning the requirements outright. Perficient's Salesforce practice delivers in small, AI-first teams. AI drafts most of what used to be written by hand — requirements, stories, configuration, tests and documentation — and a named person reviews, corrects and approves every piece of it, and is accountable for it. We hire people who can direct that work, defend it in front of a client, and keep learning as the tools change.
What you'll do
The pillars of being a successful Lead Business Consultant at Perficient are:
- Document how the business actually works, per persona where that differs, and turn it into user stories with acceptance criteria someone other than you could test.
- Review and correct AI-drafted stories against the PRD, and confirm they are buildable without interpretation.
- Build declaratively to the design and the standards — automation, templates, permission sets — committed to the repository.
- Write and run test scripts, and flag any story whose acceptance criteria are not actually testable.
- Facilitate UAT with business stakeholders and drive multi-party written sign-off.
- Verify generated end-user documentation against the actual configuration, screen by screen, before it reaches users.
- Lead demos and deliver training, and support adoption through hypercare.
- Raise anything discovered outside the backlog rather than absorbing it.
Marketing Cloud responsibilities
- Administer the creation of a new Marketing Cloud instance.
Understand and implement key integrations between Marketing Cloud and the broader Salesforce ecosystem.
How you'll use AI
- Draft stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, test scripts and training material with AI, then correct them against what the business actually said.
- Build configuration through agentic tooling against the repository rather than by hand in an org.
- Review generated work critically before it moves. Generated work fails plausibly — complete, well-formed, internally consistent and wrong — and you are the one who catches it.
- Answer one question about anything you approve: what did you change or correct before you approved it? A reviewer who never has an answer is not reviewing.
- Work fluently in whatever the engagement runs on — Claude, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, platform assistants, or the client's own stack. The activity is mandatory; the tool usually is not.

Who we're looking for
Technical depth gets you in the door. Beyond that, we hire for four qualities together, not any one in isolation — and we want people who are humble enough to teach as readily as they learn, hungry enough to close a gap without being asked, and smart about people as well as platforms.
- Techno-functional depth — You can map a business process, find the gap, and configure the platform to close it — not one or the other.
- Client presence — You lead workshops, demos and UAT sessions and are credible with the people who run the process.
- AI-native delivery — You produce almost nothing from scratch, and you can show what you corrected in what the tool drafted.
- Learn-fast orientation — You have crossed a discipline boundary — into build, into a new cloud — and been productive quickly.
You are already using AI tools to work faster and deliver better outcomes, and you want to keep pushing on that. This is where the practice is headed, so it is a practical, non-negotiable skill, not a nice-to-have.
