## Senior / Intermediate Data Developer ## About the Role We are seeking an Intermediate or Senior Data Developer to design, build and deliver modern data, analytics and AI solutions across a range of industries. This is a hands-on technical role that combines data engineering, software development and stakeholder engagement. You will work across cloud data platforms, data pipelines, analytics solutions and AI-enabled technologies, helping organisations transform data into actionable insights. The role is suited to candidates with a strong software engineering or data engineering background who enjoy solving complex problems and working closely with technical and business stakeholders. --- ## Key Responsibilities - Design, build and maintain scalable cloud-based data solutions. - Develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration processes. - Create high-quality data models to support reporting and analytics. - Develop and optimise SQL-based solutions across modern data platforms. - Build Power BI reports, dashboards and visualisations. - Develop production-ready solutions using Python, C# or JavaScript. - Contribute to solution design, architecture and technical planning. - Implement CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering best practices. - Ensure data quality, governance, security and performance standards are met. - Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver outcomes. - Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical leadership initiatives. - Explore and adopt modern AI and AI-assisted development tools. --- ## Required Experience - 3 years' experience for Intermediate level. - 5 years' experience for Senior level. - Strong experience in software development, data engineering or analytics engineering. - Experience building data pipelines and enterprise data solutions. - Strong SQL development skills. - Experience with cloud-based data platforms. - Experience delivering reporting and analytics solutions. - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - Experience working in Agile environments. --- ## Technical Skills ## Essential - SQL - Power BI - ETL / ELT Development - Data Modelling - Git - CI/CD ## One or More Of - Python - C# - JavaScript ## Microsoft Data Platform - Azure Data Factory - Azure Synapse Analytics - Microsoft Fabric - Azure Data Lake ## Nice to Have - Azure Databricks - Infrastructure as Code - Test Driven Development (TDD) - AI / Generative AI tools - Machine Learning exposure --- ## Desired Attributes - Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. - Ability to balance technical excellence with business outcomes. - Comfortable working across multiple projects and technologies. - Consulting mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving. - Passion for modern data and AI technologies. - Ability to mentor and support other developers. --- ## Salary **Intermediate Data Developer:** 90,000 - 120,000 NZD **Senior Data Developer:** 120,000 - 150,000 NZD --- ## Benefits - Hybrid working environment. - Exposure to modern Azure, Data and AI technologies. - Career progression opportunities. - Ongoing training and professional development. - Opportunity to work on complex enterprise-scale projects. - Collaborative and innovative team culture.
