Overview

To provide technical and architectural leadership within a portfolio of products, program and agile teams in support of development initiatives. To provide strong end-to-end leadership in the analysis, design and delivery of solutions/applications and be responsible for ensuring the agile team follows design parameters and accepted design methodologies and principles. Sets overall high level guidance and technical direction to the development organizations and provides assistance to solutions architects. Sought out by technical teams for expert opinion, advice, and solutions.


Responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems, concepts, common architecture patterns, particularly with Salesforce and Hubspot; a development or hands-on technical background in one or both systems is preferred

  • Works with Project, Program and agile teams as the technical leadership for the agile teams and defines the software architectural approach and high-level design for these teams while working to ensure assigned project goals are met within expected timelines and following SurePayroll standards. Validates project requirements and performs analysis to design solutions which identify and promote enterprise services to ensure a unified client experience as well as eliminate duplicate data and redundant applications.
  • Develops and implements future state architectures, technology product roadmaps, standards, and frameworks to implement Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) practices and technologies within a SurePayroll product offering. These standards, roadmaps and frameworks will be used as a baseline for design evaluations and adoption of technologies across all portfolios. Establishes practices and tools for managing and enforcing consistent security, performance and policies across the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Collaborates with Sr. Development Managers, Directors, Portfolio Managers, Product Managers and Project teams to ensure portfolio goals are met within expected timelines and include strategic architecture items. Prepares and delivers presentations to program, and portfolio teams to educate and reach consensus.
  • Develops innovative viewpoints that can be used to guide strategic decisions across the enterprise. Makes strategic decisions without prejudice, historical solutions or narrow perspective. Understands the enterprise-wide implications of day-to-day decisions so that they can be made effectively
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation regarding software architectural standards, best practices and implementation of architectural components.
  • Evaluates and manages external services leveraged within the application portfolio solutions for the purpose of reducing redundant partnerships and maintain oversight of 3rd party service dependencies.
  • Ensures that the work of other designers or architects have the appropriate level of interoperability, performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability and availability, and is a company-wide resource for this expertise.
  • Mentors, trains and provides guidance to the less senior level architects and Tech Leads in order to share knowledge and apply consistency in all applications/developments/designs.
  • Demonstrates versatility of knowledge and applies strong technical skill base to contribute to any application (including those outside application area). Independently applies new technologies in condensed timeframes to advance SurePayroll business objectives. Monitors industry and technology trends to define, select and implement new tools and strategies to address business objectives and enhance developer productivity.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Development or related discipline - Required
  • Master's Degree in Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Development or related discipline - Preferred
  • in
  • 10+ years of experience in Experience in design and development of orchestration/integration components using third-party middleware technologies - Experience with loosely coupled architectures or service oriented architectures. Extensive experience with Object Oriented Modeling and Design preferred. Full lifecycle experience designing mission critical, large scale, highly available, scalable software applications.
  • 10+ years of experience in Designing, building and deploying highly scalable web and/or mobile based enterprise applications.
  • Experience in transforming an On-premises SAAS application into Cloud.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the base pay range for this position is $120,666 - $189,619 per year. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
