Salesforce Engineer III
Overview
We are seeking a Salesforce Software Engineer III to serve as a hands-on engineer supporting our Salesforce Sales Cloud platform and broader sales technology ecosystem. This individual will design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable Salesforce solutions that strengthen lead management, opportunity management, forecasting, pipeline visibility, seller productivity, and AI-enabled experiences. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, platform configuration, data modeling, security, and enterprise integrations, and can independently translate business requirements and solution designs into reliable technical implementations. This role will actively contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including estimation, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, production troubleshooting, and ongoing platform maintenance, while collaborating closely with technical leads, architects, product owners, and business partners. Success requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to quality, clear communication, and the ability to deliver maintainable solutions in a large-scale Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software to meet requirements
- Design and develop test automation code
- Complete complex program changes; self-directed
- Perform comprehensive analysis and design for broadly defined requirements
- Make significant technical contributions; contribute to technical direction
- Provide estimates required for user stories based on business requirements, specifications and designs
- Comply with and contribute to SDLC standards and CD/CI procedures to ensure consistency; introduce new standards and opportunities for improvements
- Monitor progress against task estimates to provide status
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for applications across environments, including high impact production issues
- Maintain existing code base, monitoring for failures in non-prod environments
- Support changes during quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and post implementation to ensure integrity of application
- Share technical expertise; guide and mentor others to maximize team effectiveness and quality
- Subject Matter Expert in a relevant technology or Paychex application
Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer related discipline or equivalent work experience
- Salesforce Sales Cloud
- Hands-on Salesforce application development
- Apex development and triggers
- Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- SOQL and SOSL
- Salesforce Flow and platform automation
- Salesforce configuration, data modeling, and security
- REST and SOAP API integrations
- Unit testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis
- Git-based source control and CI/CD practices
- Agile delivery methodologies
- Ability to interpret requirements and solution designs
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Agentforce, Einstein AI, Prompt Builder, or related Salesforce AI capabilities
- Lead-to-opportunity lifecycle management
- Forecasting and pipeline management solutions
