About the Role

At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer (QA Tester) to ensure software applications are thoroughly tested, reliable, and production-ready before release.

This role combines manual testing, test automation, regression testing, API and performance testing, defect management, and release validation. You’ll work closely with engineering and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle to identify issues early and prevent critical defects from reaching users.

You’ll own quality across new features, integrations, bug fixes, and releases while helping improve testing processes and automation coverage over time.

If you naturally look for edge cases, care deeply about software quality, and enjoy preventing problems before they reach production, this role is a strong fit.

Tools & Technology

What Makes You a Strong Fit

You’ll likely thrive in this role if you:

Naturally catch edge cases others may overlook
Write clear, structured, and reproducible bug reports
Balance thorough testing with fast development cycles
Think proactively about risks rather than waiting for problems to appear
Understand when manual testing versus automation provides the most value
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Are comfortable challenging assumptions when requirements or expected behavior are unclear
Take ownership of product quality from development through release
Care about preventing defects rather than simply finding them after the fact

What a Typical Day Looks Like

You may start your day by reviewing new requirements and user stories to identify test scenarios, dependencies, and potential edge cases.

Throughout the day, you could write and update test cases, manually test new features, run regression suites, execute automated tests, test APIs, and document bugs.

You’ll collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve issues, retest fixes, review results from new builds, and maintain test documentation.

As a release approaches, you’ll help validate critical workflows and communicate outstanding defects or risks to engineering and product stakeholders.

In short: you serve as a critical quality gate before release, helping ensure users receive a stable, reliable, and thoroughly tested product.

Key Metrics for Success

High defect detection rate before production
Strong regression test coverage
Increasing automation coverage
Fast bug verification and resolution cycles
Low number of critical production defects
Reliable automated test execution
High percentage of releases deployed without severe issues
