More than one million people in the United States today are fighting blood cancer. While a traditional allogeneic stem cell transplant has been the best hope for many, the transplant itself can prove fatal or lead to serious conditions, such as graft vs. host disease. Orca Bio is a commercial-stage biotechnology company redefining the transplant process by developing next-generation cell therapies with the goal of providing significantly better survival rates with dramatically fewer risks. With our purified, high-precision cell therapies we hope to not only replace patients' blood and immune systems with healthy ones, but also restore their lives.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full cycle of Account Payable including three-ways matching, invoice processing, payment preparation, and vendor account reconciliation.
Prepare monthly journal entries for prepaid expense amortization including insurance, software subscriptions, and service agreements Maintain accurate prepaid expense schedules and supporting documentation
Reconcile prepaid expense accounts and maintain roll-forward schedules
Review expense reports for compliance with the Company’s Travel & Expense Policy and providing timely support to employees regarding expense-related questions
Support Sunshine Act reporting by reviewing Accounts Payable invoices and Travel & Expense (T&E) reports, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with reporting requirements.
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare and file sale and use tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations
Coordinate annual 1099 reporting, including vendor review, preparation and filing.
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience within biotechnology or life sciences.
Strong knowledge of day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger, monthly close, accruals, and statutory/compliance filings.
Experience managing high-volume AP and operational accounting workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to operate with firmness and accountability while building effective cross-functional relationships.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize across competing deadlines.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, Bill.com, Concur), and Microsoft Excel.

$100,000 - $120,000 a year

The anticipated annual salary range for this job is based on prior experience in the role/industry, education, location, internal equity, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. For remote-based positions, this range may vary based on your local market. Full-time employment positions will also be eligible to receive pre-IPO equity and annual bonus, in addition to competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, PTO, 401(k) plan, life and accidental death and disability coverage, and parental leave benefits.
