Job Description
General Functions:
Under limited supervision, responsible for directing and supervising units or departments and serving as liaison with outside agencies and internal departments. This position reports to a Manager or Director depending on area of assignment.

- Assistant Manager, Inmate Administration
Representative Duties/Assignments:
- Manages department in absence of the Manager.
- Assists in formulating goals and objectives for long and short term planning.
- Interprets policies, procedures, rules and regulations and ensures that staff members follow same.
- Directs and oversees activities of staff in an assigned area of responsibility. Performs such supervisory duties as instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work of others.
- Allocates personnel, assists Division Manager in the hiring process, addresses employee concerns, recommends disciplinary actions, discharges, transfers, promotions, and salary increases.
- Assists with budget preparation and assures that fiscal responsibility is practiced throughout the department.
- Serves as liaison with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, and community groups.
- Conducts research and analyzes data such as monthly statistical reports, budget reports, etc. and utilizes such data in planning functions.
- Receives, reviews, processes files and/or submits a variety of documents and reports.
- Assists with developing policies and procedures for department.
- Ensures department compliance with various policies, procedures and accreditation standards.
Specific Duties According to Assignment
Assistant Manager, Inmate Administration
- Responsible for daily operation of specific units within the division.
- Provides oversight, monitoring and evaluation of contracted services.
- Ensures compliance with accreditation standards within the respective areas throughout the division.
Minimum Qualifications:
Assistant Manager, Inmate Administration
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited and five years of progressive supervisory experience in a directly related field, to include two years of mid-level supervisory experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License.
Preferences:
Master's Degree from an accredited institution. Experience in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or Social Services.
