Middle QA Engineer

We are looking for a Middle QA Engineer to join our Agile product development team. You will work closely with Front-End Developers, Back-End Developers, Product Owners, Delivery Managers, and fellow QA Engineers to ensure the quality and reliability of our products.
The role combines both manual and automation testing.

Tech stack: TypeScript, Playwright, GraphQL, REST APIs, GitLab, Kafka, k6, SQL/NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud, and other technologies used across our microservice-based platform.

• 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, with solid experience in software testing and test automation.

• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and testing artifacts.

• Good programming skills and practical experience with TypeScript/JavaScript or another object-oriented programming language.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright or a similar automation framework.

• Good understanding and practical experience with API testing, including REST APIs.

• Familiarity with GraphQL testing.

• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

• Experience with Git and version control workflows.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.

• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Experience with Jira and test/defect management tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify potential root causes.

• Understanding of microservice architecture and end-to-end system interactions.

• Experience with performance testing and tools such as k6, JMeter, or similar.

• Upper-Intermediate English and confidence in participating in technical discussions.

• Hands-on experience with AI tools and an AI-first mindset - actively uses AI in day-to-day QA/engineering workflows and demonstrates a genuine interest in exploring and adopting new AI-driven approaches to testing, automation, and problem-solving.

Would be a plus:

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or cloud environments.

• Experience with Kafka or other event-driven/messaging technologies.

• Experience with Google Cloud.

• Experience with Karate, Cucumber, BDD, or Gherkin.

• Experience maintaining or contributing to an in-house automation framework.

• Experience with application logs, monitoring, and observability tools.

• Experience with advanced GraphQL testing.

• Experience with Apache Thrift or similar service-to-service communication technologies.

• Experience with performance analysis and interpreting performance test results.

What will you do? What tech do we use?

• Become part of a collaborative Scrum Team working on a microservice-based betting platform.

• Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, Delivery Managers, and other QA Engineers throughout the full development lifecycle.

• Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to requirements clarification, test planning, risk analysis, and test coverage.

• Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test cases and scenarios, while defining the appropriate automation scope.

• Develop, maintain, and improve automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript.

• Perform API testing using REST APIs, GraphQL, Postman, or similar tools.

• Perform regression, smoke, exploratory, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Investigate defects across different layers of the application, including APIs, databases, logs, and communication between services, and assist with identifying root causes.

• Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of our in-house automation framework and QA tooling.

• Work with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines, including automated test execution and investigation of pipeline failures.

• Participate in performance testing and performance-related investigations using tools such as k6.

• Contribute to improving QA processes, testing standards, automation practices, and overall product quality.

• Take ownership of assigned QA activities and support less experienced QA Engineers through knowledge sharing.
