Who we’re looking for

OpenMinds is seeking a hands-on and creative Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, writing, and measuring the impact of behaviour change communication campaigns.
‍

In this position, you will:

‍

— Design and implement multi-channel strategic communication campaigns informed by behavioural science, AI insights, and deep sociopolitical understanding

‍

— Identify key target audiences, understand their motivations and barriers, and develop tailored messaging and content to shift attitudes and behaviours

‍

— Write content yourself, with AI as part of your daily workflow: social media posts, video scripts, and direct outreach messaging

‍

— Select and adapt communication channels (including unconventional and hard-to-reach platforms) to maximise message penetration and engagement

‍

— Coordinate campaign execution with vendors, creators, and contractors: write their briefs and tasks, and check the quality of what they deliver

‍

— Track and report campaign performance against clear metrics, adjusting execution based on what the data shows

We are a perfect match if you:
‍

— Have proven experience designing and running communication campaigns where you owned the message: political campaigning, advocacy or public-interest campaigns, government communications, or donor-funded program delivery

‍

— Think audience-first: you understand the values, concerns, and everyday language of people very different from yourself, and adapt tone, framing, and messenger so the message lands with them

‍

— Have an AI-native, optimisation-focused mindset — fluent with AI tools for research, content, and reporting, always looking for the faster or better way to do something
‍

— Experience with campaign analytics and optimisation is a plus: reading engagement and conversion data, interpreting A/B test results, and using them to improve messaging

‍

— Upper-intermediate+ level of English
