Director of AI Enablement
We're looking for a Director of AI Enablement
At Oda, we develop affordable grocery services to make the logistics of living surprisingly easy. We started by building Norway's leading online grocery store, and we're building one of the most effective retail systems in the world, delivering groceries to thousands of Scandinavian doorsteps every week.
AI maturity is a prioritised target for Oda in 2026 — and will be the base off which we “re-found” Oda as an “AI mature” company in 2027 and beyond. We've already brought on a strong infrastructure engineer to build the technical core of our new AI Enablement Team. What we're missing is someone senior enough to set the agenda, not just execute one: someone with deep passion for AI and the charisma and experience needed to lead the way to greatness - who never stopped being technical enough to open an editor and prove the point themselves.
Why this seat matters
You will report directly to the CTO and sit where Oda's AI strategy actually gets decided - not as a note-taker, but as a co-author. You'll be the most senior technical voice the organization interacts with on AI.
Two things are already underway that this role plugs directly into:
A single golden path & toolchain for in-office AI productivity, with cost transparency and adoption metrics
A pull-not-push operating model: central AI makes the training, tools, and platform support available; leaders and teams own delivery and are accountable for the output. You design and run that model - you don't do the work for people indefinitely.
Your mandate feeds directly into a live, multi-year initiative: re-founding Oda as an “AI mature” company, with real budget, real executive sponsorship, and a scoreboard the leadership team already watches.
What you'll own
Strategy & prioritization: Decide, with real authority, which AI opportunities across support, commercial, and operations functions are worth the org's time - and defend that call to leadership in terms of business outcomes and ROI, not novelty.
Organizational design: Shape how AI capability is built into Oda's operating model - training, governance, team composition - not just which tools get bought.
Company-wide amplification: Grow and run Oda's internal AI Community beyond product & tech into every function, and get every function to a real floor level of AI capability.
Hands-on proof of concept: Prototype and ship the first working version of a new internal AI tool or workflow yourself - then hand it off once it's real.
Executive narrative: Own what "good" looks like for AI adoption and impact at Oda, track it, and be the person leadership turns to for a straight answer on where the AI strategy stands.
What we're looking for
A track record of operating at a senior technical leadership level - staff/principal engineer, technical director, VP of engineering, or founder - where you set direction that led to impact rather than just executed someone else's roadmap.
Fluency moving between registers: you can whiteboard trade-offs with the executive team in the morning and be in an editor shipping working code in the afternoon. We need both, in the same person.
Real experience owning outcomes in front of leadership - presenting trade-offs, defending priorities, being accountable for a number, not just a delivery date.
Hands-on, current technical depth: comfortable with LLM APIs, prompt architecture, agent frameworks, and either low-code or full-code tools, well enough to build something real yourself, not just spec it for others.
Experience running programs, workshops, or communities across a mixed audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
High autonomy and the confidence to set direction in ambiguity - you're not waiting for someone to hand you a roadmap.
Professional fluency in English.
What we offer
A genuinely exciting mandate: shape how an entire company adopts AI, with direct executive sponsorship and a live 2027 strategy you help write, not just implement.
Compensation and scope matched to a senior technical leadership hire.
A fast-moving company with real operational scale and engineering maturity.
A flat structure that emphasizes high trust, low bureaucracy, and psychological safety - the kind of environment where a senior operator can actually move without nine layers of sign-off.
A buzzing, highly social office at Tøyen with lunch prepared daily by our in-house chefs.
Final words
We're looking for someone who's outgrown being told what to build, but never outgrew wanting to build it. If that's you, and you're ready to set the agenda for AI at a company operating at real scale, this is your seat.
