As a DevSecOps/Software Infrastructure Engineer – Level 2/3 located in Chandler, Arizona, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
The Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) Flight Software Team is seeking an early- to mid-career DevSecOps/Software Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen the software factory supporting flight software, algorithms, and modeling-and-simulation development. You will improve the reliability, performance, scalability, and security of engineering workflows by supporting GitLab CI/CD pipelines, containerized development environments, software-package management, automated testing, and large-scale software execution.
In this role, you will work across Podman and OCI-compatible containers, Visual Studio Code development containers, Linux-based environments, infrastructure automation, and C++ and Python applications. You will investigate and resolve complex issues involving build and test pipelines, containers, dependencies, development environments, and software runsets, helping teams distinguish infrastructure issues from software, model, or flight-dynamics defects.
You will help establish and mature reliable, repeatable processes for container builds, package and dependency management, automated testing, software releases, and large-scale execution environments. Your work will improve environment consistency, reduce development interruptions and repetitive manual effort, and enable engineering teams to focus on delivering mission-critical capabilities.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
In this job, you will:
- Maintain and improve GitLab repositories, branching workflows, integrations, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software-factory operations.
- Build, configure, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot containerized development and execution environments using Podman, OCI-compatible container images, and Visual Studio Code development containers.
- Create and maintain container definitions, build scripts, base images, reusable development environments, and repeatable container-image build, release, update, distribution, and retirement processes.
- Manage software packages, dependencies, repositories, version compatibility, and configuration baselines across containerized and Linux-based development, test, and execution environments.
- Develop automation for building, testing, code review, deployment, vulnerability scanning, metrics collection, and software-factory operations to reduce manual effort and improve repeatability.
- Diagnose and resolve complex build, test, deployment, environment, infrastructure, container, package, and large-scale software-runset issues; perform root-cause analysis across GitLab pipelines, development environments, and C++ and Python applications.
- Monitor software-factory reliability, performance, utilization, and health metrics; identify recurring failure patterns and implement sustainable improvements.
- Support large-scale software testing and execution, including high-performance computing-related scripts, workflows, resource utilization, job execution, and performance optimization when applicable.
- Collaborate with flight software, algorithms, modeling and simulation, cybersecurity, test, performance, and infrastructure teams to resolve cross-functional issues and improve engineering workflows.
- Create and maintain troubleshooting guides, release notes, tool configurations, operational documentation, and reusable development practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
