About Nominal

Engineers today are building some of the most ambitious machines humanity has ever seen. They should have AI that’s purpose-built for them.

Nominal is building the Hardware Intelligence Platform that gives engineers increased visibility into complex physical systems, helps them make better decisions, and ultimately gets their products into the real world faster. It brings together the systems, data, intelligence, and applications hardware engineering requires to meet the AI moment. Hardware engineering teams use Nominal to simulate, test, manufacture, and operate the physical systems that keep the world moving, from spacecraft and autonomous vehicles to next-generation energy systems and robotics.

Our customers span aerospace, defense, manufacturing, transportation, energy, and robotics. They include Anduril, Shield AI, Wisk Aero, Pratt Miller Motorsports, Antares, and Shinkei Systems, amongst others, alongside programs within the U.S. Air Force and Navy. Our team draws from SpaceX, Palantir, Anduril, Applied Intuition, Tesla, and other leading companies, united by a common mission: giving hardware engineers the tools to build the future with speed, safety, and confidence. We're a fast-moving team that owns problems end-to-end, works across disciplines, and thrives at the intersection of hardware and software.

Some of the world’s leading technology investors, including Sequoia, Lightspeed, Founders Fund, General Catalyst, Lux Capital, and Insight Partners, are backing Nominal’s ambition to change how machines are built and operated. We’re looking for engineers who want to take on hard problems and help make a new generation of world-changing hardware possible.

Engagement Managers own the long-term success of a portfolio of Nominal customers. You will drive change and fundamental improvements to the way our customers build, test, and operate the most advanced hardware systems in the world. This is a role for someone who is comfortable building trusted partnerships with engineers and executives. You will work closely with teams across Nominal to drive measurable outcomes and ROI for our customers, from first signature through renewal.

🚀 About the role

Design each customer’s path to value: Partner with Mission Operations Engineers to define tailored change-management strategies, sequence initiatives from initial rollout to enterprise-wide adoption, and evolve the plan as customer needs and Nominal’s capabilities grow.
Align executive priorities with measurable outcomes: Establish clear goals with customer leadership that support their strategic priorities. Maintain a pulse on account health, identify risks early, and define a clear path forward.
Own the operating cadence: Lead executive check-ins, adoption sessions, and business reviews. Go beyond product updates and usage metrics to connect Nominal’s impact to the customer’s engineering and operational priorities.
Translate adoption into business value: Build compelling business value assessments that stand up to CFO-level scrutiny, and bring them into customer conversations early rather than waiting until renewal or expansion is on the line.
Drive renewals and expansion: Quantify value throughout the customer relationship, identify the next program, team, or use case, and turn opportunities into measurable account growth.
Help build the post-sale playbook: Define and scale how we engage customers across adoption, value realization, renewal, and expansion. Bring customer insights back to Product and Engineering to help shape the roadmap.

🔍 We're Looking For Someone With

Executive presence: You can confidently lead a conversation with a VP of Engineering or CEO while building trusted relationships with the engineers using the product every day.
Strong project management: You know how to keep complex initiatives moving across customer and internal teams, bringing structure and accountability to execution.
Technical fluency: You’re comfortable working in technically complex environments and can quickly understand engineering workflows, customer challenges, and how technology drives business outcomes.
A metrics-driven mindset: You’re comfortable identifying trends in data, translating them into insights, and presenting and defending your findings in high-stakes conversations.
Sound judgment: You know when to listen, when to advise, and when to push customers toward better outcomes.
Ability to travel: You’re comfortable traveling up to 50% to customer sites.
