Job Details

Cencora is building a skills-powered talent ecosystem that connects workforce planning, career growth, learning, and internal mobility. We are seeking a Director, Skills & Marketplace Ecosystem to lead the strategy, governance, and evolution of the skills and talent marketplace foundation that powers talent decisions across the enterprise.


This role serves as the architect and steward of our enterprise skills ecosystem, ensuring that skills data, talent experiences, and technology platforms work together to create a seamless experience for team members and leaders. You will lead the design and governance of the enterprise skills framework, oversee the evolution of our talent marketplace, and partner across HR, technology, analytics, and the business to build capabilities that help Cencora develop, deploy, and retain talent at scale.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, governance, and evolution of Cencora's enterprise skills architecture, including taxonomy, proficiency models, and skills lifecycle management.
  • Establish the standards, processes, and governance required to maintain a trusted and scalable skills framework.
  • Ensure skills remain aligned to changing business priorities, workforce needs, and market trends.
  • Oversee the strategy, configuration, and optimization of the Talent Marketplace.
  • Design experiences that help team members discover career opportunities, projects, mentors, and development pathways.
  • Drive adoption and engagement with skills-based talent practices across the organization.
  • Partner with HR Technology, People Analytics, Learning, and external vendors to create an integrated talent ecosystem.
  • Lead the integration of skills and talent data across HR, learning, and marketplace platforms.
  • Ensure skills data flows seamlessly across systems and supports consistent talent decisions.
  • Drive the evolution of skills inference, talent profiles, and skills-based insights.
  • Establish measures of data quality, platform performance, and ecosystem effectiveness.
  • Translate data into actionable insights that inform workforce and talent decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and marketplace capabilities.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships and ensure value realization from external investments.
  • Champion adoption of skills-based talent practices throughout the enterprise.

  • Increase visibility of skills, career opportunities, and development pathways for team members.
  • Enable leaders to make more informed talent and workforce decisions.
  • Deliver a connected ecosystem that supports internal mobility, workforce agility, and future capability building.
  • Establish governance and operating practices that scale with the organization. 

Education and Work Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, industrial-organizational psychology, education, or a related field, or equivalent experience required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience leading enterprise talent, skills, career development, or talent management initiatives.
  • Knowledge of skills-based talent strategies, workforce transformation, and internal mobility practices.
  • Experience with HRIS, talent marketplace, skills intelligence, or workforce planning platforms.
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale talent, skills, or workforce programs.
  • Experience working across HR, technology, analytics, and business functions.
  • Strong program leadership, stakeholder management, and change leadership capabilities.
  • Experience managing external vendors and strategic partnerships.
  • Experience with Workday and/or Phenom a plus.

Certifications


  • Certification in human resources, talent management, leadership development, or organizational development preferred.

Salary Range*

$119,100 - 186,560

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
