Business Development Director
Summary: The Business Development Director – Cabinets & Vanities will lead the strategic rollout and growth of MSI's Cabinets & Vanities program across the organization. This role is responsible for driving product adoption, enabling the sales organization through training, supporting customer launches, developing new business opportunities, and serving as the primary liaison between Product Management and Sales. The Business Development Director will work cross-functionally to ensure successful execution of the cabinet business strategy while driving profitable growth, expanding market presence, and strengthening customer relationships.
Compensation: This salaried, exempt position pays from $100,000 to $130,000 per year. The estimated annual pay for new hires generally ranges from $115,000 to $150,000 or more, depending on experience, education level and annual bonuses.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Cabinet Business Rollout
- Lead the rollout of MSI's Cabinets & Vanities program across the organization.
- Develop and execute launch strategies to ensure successful implementation across branches and sales teams.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align product availability, training, marketing, and operational readiness.
- Monitor rollout progress and recommend improvements to maximize adoption and sales performance.
Sales Training & Enablement
- Train regional and branch sales teams on cabinet and vanity products, features, selling strategies, and competitive positioning.
- Develop sales tools, presentations, product knowledge resources, and best practices to improve sales effectiveness.
- Provide ongoing coaching and field support to ensure successful product adoption.
Customer Development & Account Support
- Accompany sales representatives on key customer visits to introduce and launch the Cabinets & Vanities program.
- Support sales teams in presenting product offerings, merchandising opportunities, and program benefits to customers.
- Assist sales teams in identifying, prospecting, and developing new cabinet dealer, distributor, builder, and retail accounts.
- Help develop strategic account plans that drive long-term business growth.
Sales Support & Problem Resolution
- Partner with sales teams to resolve challenges encountered during cabinet program implementation.
- Identify operational, product, or customer-related issues and coordinate solutions with the appropriate internal departments.
- Support successful execution of customer programs while maintaining high service levels.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison between Product Management and the Sales organization for all cabinet-related initiatives.
- Communicate product updates, new launches, promotions, pricing changes, and market feedback between departments.
- Provide field insights to Product Management to support future product development and program enhancements.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, Inventory Planning, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful product launches and customer satisfaction.
Business Development & Market Growth
- Identify market trends, competitive opportunities, and customers need to support continued growth of the cabinet business.
- Develop strategies to increase cabinet sales across existing and new customer segments.
- Track sales performance and provide recommendations to improve market penetration and profitability.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Five (5) to Ten (10) years of sales, business development, or category management experience, preferably within cabinets, kitchen & bath, building materials, home improvement, or related industries.
- Experience training sales organizations and supporting large-scale product launches.
- Proven experience developing new business opportunities and managing customer relationships.
- Strong understanding of cabinet products, distribution channels, and dealer networks is preferred.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong relationship-building and consultative selling abilities.
- Ability to train, coach, and influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively to support sales teams and customer visits.
