Short Summary:
We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to support our payments business, including digital assets and emerging payment technologies. This role involves navigating a rapidly evolving legal and regulatory landscape while helping Monzo innovate responsibly.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with product managers to advise on legal matters related to digital assets and emerging financial technologies.
- Develop efficient ways of working to enable Monzo to scale quickly while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing on the impact of laws and regulations.
- Act as the sole lawyer advising product managers, identifying legal issues proactively.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders across the Monzo Group to provide legal advice and insights.
- Advise on the evolving legal and regulatory framework for digital assets and emerging financial technologies.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and law firms for cost management.

Requirement:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Recent experience with digital assets and emerging financial technologies.
- Demonstrated experience advising on laws and regulations relevant to financial services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to assess risk.
- Proactive and passionate about the intersection of banking and technology.
