Short Summary:
Our client operates a core banking platform for digital assets, securing over €100B in assets and powering operations for over 400 global institutions. They seek a Principal Security Engineer to lead product security, embedding security into system architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Lead product security architecture, embedding security principles into design and development.
- Analyze and secure key management systems and transaction pipelines.
- Perform system-level threat modeling for new features and integrations.
- Design and evaluate security-sensitive components, including authentication protocols.
- Define and maintain multi-layered security controls across application and infrastructure.
- Own software supply-chain security, from CI pipelines to developer environments.
- Investigate emerging security risks related to blockchain and cryptographic techniques.
- Support compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
- Provide guidance to engineering teams and support incident response.
- Participate in security architecture reviews with banking partners and auditors.
- Contribute to technical research and industry presentations.
Requirement:
- 10+ years in security engineering or architecture roles.
- Experience securing financial infrastructure or blockchain platforms.
- Deep understanding of cryptographic protocols and key management.
- Extensive experience in threat modeling and architecture reviews.
- Solid knowledge of distributed systems and cloud platforms (primarily AWS).
- Hands-on experience with software supply-chain defenses.
- Familiarity with audit cycles for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks.
- Professional familiarity with backend languages like Rust or TypeScript.
- Exceptional communication skills for complex security concepts.
