Short Summary:
As Associate General Counsel, Product & Regulatory, you'll lead legal and regulatory judgment within Mews' product and fintech work, managing a team of counsel and paralegals while reporting to the Chief Legal Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Own the Product & Regulatory legal remit across Mews' SaaS and fintech environment.
- Embed with Product and Engineering as a hands-on product counsel.
- Provide senior legal guidance on regulated product design, launch, and scaling.
- Build and manage a small specialist pod of counsel and paralegals.
- Use AI to reshape how legal support is delivered into product development.
Requirement:
- Significant in-house legal experience in technology, SaaS, or fintech.
- Strong fintech and regulatory exposure, ideally in payments or embedded finance.
- Working knowledge of financial-crime regulation (AML, BSA, KYC, KYB).
- People-leadership experience, ideally managing lawyers and/or paralegals.
- AI Fluency Level 3 or equivalent hands-on experience using AI in legal work.
