Job Description
• Lead and manage a high-performing Car EOO software development team, covering people leadership, delivery content, budget awareness, and business management aspects.
• Act as a mentor and capability builder by promoting knowledge sharing, professional growth, and skills development within the team.
• Align Car EOO activities with Mercedes-Benz Tech Malaysia, Home of Tech, and global RD priorities to support strategic software development topics.
• Support cross-regional collaboration and capability ramp-up with RD China, RD Germany, and Home of Tech counterparts, including China-related vehicle software and delivery setup topics.
• Translate strategic expectations into team focus areas, capability development, delivery readiness, and operational follow-up.
• Implement and oversee practices that improve organizational efficiency, delivery transparency, quality, and stakeholder responsiveness.
• Ensure adherence to compliance guidelines while promoting collaboration, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Build and maintain regular communication with direct reports, peer team leads or Tech Principals, stakeholders, HoT counterparts, RD China and RD Germany counterparts, and external partners where relevant.
Qualifications
• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in IT-specific corporate roles with management responsibility.
• Proven experience across operational, conceptual, and technical aspects of IT or software product development.
• Experience in automotive software development, preferably with exposure to vehicle or onboard software topics.
• Proven experience leading and strategically aligning distributed agile development teams.
• Strong track record of collaborating with international partners and teams.
• Experience in cross-regional delivery setup, stakeholder alignment, capability ramp-up, and coordination across Malaysia, China, Germany, or comparable international locations.

• Ability to communicate technical software development topics clearly, including vehicle or onboard software context.
• Mandarin proficiency is advantageous for technical communication with China-based stakeholders, particularly on vehicle or onboard software topics.
Responsibility and Scope for decision-making
• Solely responsible for developing a high-performing Car EOO team, including team guidance, expectation setting, feedback, mentoring, and support for professional development.
• Co-responsible for achieving strategic alignment and enabling cross-regional delivery collaboration with Home of Tech, RD China, RD Germany, and relevant business or technical stakeholders.
• Co-responsible for driving operational excellence, delivery readiness, capability ramp-up, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Co-responsible for maintaining delivery transparency, quality standards, compliance awareness, and stakeholder responsiveness.
• Responsible for aligning priorities, monitoring delivery progress, and supporting follow-up actions related to people, delivery, and operational topics.
• Supports external partner, vendor, or recruiter coordination where relevant, including alignment on deliverables and compliance with agreed arrangements.
