Director, Data & Integrations - EDI

Title: Director, Data & Integrations - EDI Location: Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ, USA Job Purpose The Director, Data & Integrations - EDI oversees and prioritizes the work of the EDI development team while remaining hands-on with complex development, mapping, testing, debugging and implementation of data-centric systems supporting EDI.  The Director, Data & Integrations - EDI owns client timelines for new development work, governs ticket intake and documentation standards in the team's Jira instance, facilitates CDM design sessions, and leads architecture decisions for CDM and extract changes. The Director, Data & Integrations - EDI mentors and cross-trains team members and represents the EDI team in Agile Scrum planning.   Duties & Responsibilities   Oversee and prioritize the work efforts of the EDI development team Ensure client timelines are understood and maintained for new development work Work closely with the Implementation Team Lead and Operations Team Lead, and participate in client calls as needed, to coordinate requirements, timelines, technical issues, implementation activities, and operational support Oversee EDI Jira instance processes, activities, and access; validate that EDI tickets contain appropriate documentation and are ready and properly queued for work Facilitate CDM design sessions and evaluate fit-for-purpose approaches based on EHR requirements by type Lead architecture for changes and modifications to legacy CDMs and extracts Act as architect/shepherd for new EDI capabilities built by team members (e.g., event-driven list maintenance), providing technical direction and design guidance Own, maintain, and promote department standards and coding practices to ensure consistency, quality, maintainability, and alignment across EDI solutions Coordinate Mirth Connect renewal, upgrade planning, and cross-team implementation activities for effective upgrades to Mirth tooling Mentor and cross-train EDI team members; coordinate backup coverage during planned absences to maintain operational continuity Represent the EDI team in Agile Scrum planning, backlog discussions, sprint reviews, and status reporting to management Produce and maintain automated reporting that loads active Jira entities and accounts into Jira Assets in support of the Product Support Portal, including related research and maintenance Produce quarterly Source Authority output for contractual reporting related to licensed third-party data Coordinate responses to ad-hoc operational data questions about imports and extracts Function as technical liaison with technical contacts at trading partners and other organizations, including escalated or complex items Other duties as assigned Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties   Qualifications   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; or equivalent industry experience 7 years of experience in Data Integrations and 3-4 years experience in Healthcare 2+ years leadership experience required Hands-on experience with Mirth Connect required 5+ years’ experience in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL required 5+ years’ experience with C#, TypeScript, JavaScript or Java required Software troubleshooting experience and knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Demonstrable experience implementing enterprise-scale, high volume, high availability systems Demonstrated ability to deliver major critical projects Experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle, especially developing functional requirements, software development, and unit testing; experience with software development methodologies, including Agile Experience providing leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a group Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with expert knowledge of Excel Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented  Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Preferred Experience   Familiarity with ANSI ASC X12 file standards with emphasis on the healthcare related formats: 837P,837I, 835, and 834 Familiarity with HL7 standards and healthcare data exchange formats, including HL7 v2 messaging, is preferred Experience with PowerShell or Bash/Linux shell scripting Familiarity with open-source databases like PostgreSQL Experience in Test Driven Development and automated unit testing Two years of experience working on Agile teams with experience in developing Epics, user stories, acceptance criteria Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, Feature Driven Development (FDD) is a plus Experience with Elasticsearch and/or MongoDB is a plus Experience programming with Java and Maven Microsoft SQL Server certification is a plus Mirth Certification is a plus Azure experience is a plus   Working Conditions   Must possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications, for multifactor authentication and security purposes Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area;
